2004 cavalier...16 inch stock wheels....stock is 42mm offset....will a 48 offset fit or will it look dumb b/c they will stick out way to much

also im lowered 1.4in on eibach pro kit

Going from a 42mm offset to a 48mm offset will result in the rims and tires moving inward by 6mm, not outward. If you are not changing the wheel width, then the only effect will be that the tires move about 1/4" closer to the body, probably not overly noticeable.
the rims are 17x7....i think that the stock chrome wheels on the LS sport are 16x6....

So with 17X7 w/ 48 offset versus 16X6 w/ 42 offset, the inner edge of the rim will be 3/4" closer to the body and the outer edge will be 1/4" closer to the fender. Then you may want to consider the difference in tire width, if any. Just add or subtract to each side one-half of the difference. So if you were to go to a 215 width versus the stock 205, you would add 5 mm (3/16") to the inner and outer dimensions.
you'll be fine. im running a 18x7.5 w/ a 48mm offset
You probably want a lower offset like 40, 38, or 35... I'm running 18x8.5 +35 with no problems, other than I had to roll my fenders, and I'll probably be pulling my front fenders slightly.
+48... those will be sunk.

too bad you have an 03 or else you could get the toyota fenders that are slightly wider
How much is slightly wider?
Aren't the fenders the same? Fitment-wise, not width, I mean. The only difference is the small filler piece that takes the place of the cornering lens of the 02 and back headlights, and that filler piece is on the bumper, not the fender.
lol yea your right. my fault, ive been working all day so my brain is like fried from doing stupid work but yes the fenders are the same from 95-05. how much wider i dont know but if you look up some toyota cavalier fender threads you might be able to find out. i know that they are noticable wide though.
Sweet. Maybe I will pick up a pair instead of cutting my fenders and getting blister flares.
