I bought SLR fenders from A+ Performance and the driver lip to mount is an inch away from teh holes, so I have to extend teh lip. When I mocked them up I noticed they feel flimsy. Where would you recomend adding support material to increase the strength of these. I am not looking to have to buy new ones when a pebble hits them or someone leans on them.
Thanks esp if you can post some pics with them on already.
I had FG fenders on my cav and never had a problem. When you had them mocked up did you have all the bolts in and tight, most of the strength comes from being mounted to the car, all bolts in and tight.

Even... the factory fenders feel like ass when they are not bolted to the car. They almost feel like I can ball them up and bake potatoes with them in the oven.
Well I mocked them up and they did need repair. I ended up reinforcing the cracks near the wheel well going towards the door with mat on the back and bondo glass on the front. teh doors hit so i am taking them off tomorrow and widening the bolt holes to make room for the door to swing. Also have to fix new cracks from the door hitting the fender. these thinhs are a pain, but they look good at least.
Also there si tape residue form shipping any thoughths on what to use to get the glue off?
here is a in progress pic.
Can anyone please tell me what would work best to get tape glue off the gel coat.
Goo Gone will work to remove any glue residue.

FOR SALE
either use goo gone or a very fine grit sandpaper.
as for reinforcing a fiberglass fender, you can always add a little more fiberglass mat inside to make it a little thicker.
