well i got my type j today and just wanted to let every one know that if you order it for an 2003+ IT DOES COME WITH THE REAR FILLER PIECES FOR UNDER THE TAILLIGHT ! i was sooo happy! rksport even told me that the kit did not incude those pieces,and they were in the box ......it even has a bracket built on to it so you dont need to use "L" brackets for the back bumper not to sag.........just thought id give yall a heads up and i also had a concern about the front bumper.......its warped really bad on the corner by the passenger fender/headlight is supposed to go.......any one else run across this problem? is it fixable.....im not even gonna be able to put it on its so warped,and i hate to send it back i dont wanna shell out another 170.00 for shipping........again......i dont know what to do so any info is greatly appreciated...
To take out the warp. Heat up the bumper with a heat gun, when it gets hot enough where it is pliable but not melting or making the surface shiny then straighten it out and hold it there till it cools down. If you have an air gun then use that to cool it down faster. You might want to put on some gloves too so you do not burn your hands.
yeah thats what i was thinking,thanks man its really thick so it will take a while to heat up i think......my heat gun is pretty average......i hope it has what it takes to heat that thing
I'm sure it will heat up just fine if you hold it there long enough. But that is good that it came with a bracket and filler panels. Post up some pics once its all installed

one thing i notice with the Type J i had on my car is that it runs a little hotter cause it doesnt have the vent on the top by the hood like the factory bumper does, its not much just a little.

well test fitting the pieces today and this kit looks very unuseable..........im so upset at how much the front bumper is warped....i tried heating it and its tooo warped for fixing.......it curves into the tire really bad....and the one side skirt is curved out really bad too....the other side skirt might be useable though........any one else run into this? i dont know what to do
there are also some small holes on a couple of spots
take some pics so we can help you out better. I wanna see what is actually wrong. Maybe RK will actually send you another one and pay for the other one to be shipped back.
If there are major issues like that, I would think RK would exhange the kit for a proper fitting one. Get some pics up!

well rk sport doesent seem too eager to help me out yet....i will have to get a camera and take some pics of it and send it to them to see if they can even do anything.....i think there customer service is very bad
they told me i would have to pay shipping if i send it back,and if i want a new one i would have to pay shipping back........so i have to pay because they make a junk product? wow i always heard good things about them........i dont know what to do......looks like im out 1170.00 dollers? can someone help me out im so effing mad right now....
as the other guys are saying, mount it to the car and heat it up and it will slowly get the bends out of it, just takes some time and patience
sorry i dont have a digital camera any more.....the big lip on the front bumper is like twisted......i cant heat up the whole entire bumper to bend it to the right shape. man rk sport @!#$ sucks. i would never recomend them .....i cant put the holes in it or they for sure wont take it back......the guy on the phone told me that if i drill the holes to mount it and decide i cant fix it then they wont do anything because i modified it.......what a b!tch!
