03-05 REAR ON A 2000
Saturday, November 25, 2006 8:10 AM
OK so i ordered a full drift kit for my cav and they sent me the right front, yay , and an 03-05 rear. i like the way that it has the flares on each side of the trunk lid. what do i have to get in order for the two flares to flush with the rest?
is there some kind of bracket that the 03-05 models use to hold those flares under the tailight?

thank you i cant wait to get this fixed its bugging me and they are starting to crack!

not sure if on the car they are held on by screws or epoxy but i would assume you just pop them off the car sand down the residue and viola you can now install the 03+ rear on your 00+ car

00+ have an extra bracket under the outer tails that the bumper pieces that go up there snap in to.

2000-02 has the worthless filler plates and the 03-04 has a piece that takes the place of the filler plates

how do the peices on the 03-04's attach to the body?

i just dont get it sorry

you have to take the filler plates off your car

you have to take the black plates that are inside of the filler pieces(the ones that go inside the bumper) off of a 03+.

if you dont want to trade, go to a junk yard and pull some off or a 03+, i had to buy one for my rear end swap, i think i only paid $10 for it(yard minimum). make sure you have lots of extra tome though, it takes awhile to get those bumpers off.

kewl i think i will just trade with Joey Baggs as long as the brackets will work.
and as long as the brackets are in decent shape and not britle and about to break

so joey how would you like to trade if that ends up being what happens?
ship them to eachother or what?

yup...i can get you pics if ya want...i have an 03 and had the original brackets, but i cut them up to use with my type-j rear...then i got rid of the type-j and went back to stock, but the vbrackets wouldnt work anymore, cuz i had to hack the crap out of them, lol.

so i ended up going and buying a set from the dealer in april. theres no 03-05 cavs in any yards around here so that was basically my only choise. and i think i had to pay $$31 each for them

but im up to trade if you still need them

we can do whatever to get it done. if you search my old name in general(Eazy716) you'll find a few different posts about my reputation on here. alot of people on here can vouch for me

i trust you
um lets see i have my fillers just let me make sure there is nothing wrong with them

they are in my storage unit and i dont have the key to it so i have to wait for my mother to get off work so i cant steal the key from her then i will make sure there is no damage to them before we make a trade. k
thanx
