Installing Mesh

OK, here is something that bumfuzzles me. I can build a box and install a stereo, I can do a motor swap, I can rotate my own tires, I can install body panels...BUT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO INSTALL MESS WITHOUT THE ATTACHMENT POINTS BEING SEEN FROM THE OUTSIDE! HELP!

go behind the body kit and make some screw points with fiberglass. Thats what i did and worked great.

But i'm sure thats not the right answer.

ok if you can install body parts then this shouldnt be that hard.

take the bumper off so its easier to work with and then do it that way. much easier to do

Actually, I was thinking of using the method that was used on my carbon fiber hood. It looks like they actually layered fiberglass on top of the mesh in the inside and then colormatched it to the black on the inside. If I work the mesh around the contours of the openings, I should be able to go on the inside and layer it in with fiberglass sheets and resin and no one will ever be the wiser. Will this work? It seems like it should in theory.

i just took some aluminum tig wire.. cut them to 5in each and glassed them to the inside around the opening 3 on top 3 on bottom. then slide the mesh over it and folded them over like a hook.. i can get pics if u want..

Sounds like I was on the right trail with the glass idea then...only your way sounds a lot easier. Seems like you are doing the sophisticated version of what I have seen....drilled holes and bailing wire. Only I'm sure you way is cleaner...I'll have to try that.

Your seriously over thinking this, Steve is right ZIP TIES!!! from 2 ft away you can't notice them and if you want to be extra creative just paint them to match your car with some touch up paint. Then you won't notice em till your going thru the grill.

I appreciate all the input. I am going to go with the fiberglass tab and wire from the inside because I can't stand the thought of me or a judge seeing them even at 2 inches away.
