this is a question i know nothing on body work soo please dont harrass. would it be alright to just body fill the holes left from the keyholes with body filler?

No. Body filler is meant to cover minor imperfections.

weld in a new piece. like pcs said body filler is used to take out small imperfections like high and low spots. it should not be used to fill in holes or big indentations

glad to see your not goin to attmept this your self its not that easy no experience welding you can warp the hell out of the sheet metal i could go on and on but i won`t
if it were me and all ya wanted was the hole filled 100 bucks

what about using fiberglass mat for the trunk lock, and lay it in the hole?

Use metal or after a while of the sun beating on it you will be able to see where you filled in the hole. You always use metal when you shave something. anything from door locks, Handles, Tails, gas door anything you never use boddy filler it might look good for now but in a few months it will look like @$$

the only way to do it right is to weld in metal. like said above, body filler is used for small pits and low spots.
