looks good to me, as long as theres no electrical or drivetrain problems, cause those can cost huge money.

nah. i test drove it and went a mechanic and he said its just exterior is the problem. No electrial and no drivetrain (moist of it has been replaces like clutch, flywheel etc ) so i dunno, im going to bid to see if i can win.
he lives like 1 hour away and thats how i test drove it. its a nice car. im thinking about a type J all the way around if i win.
I think it is. The cavy look rel nice. Good luck bidding on it.
looks good. good luck with the bidding.

i would say also check the history report, see if its been in any accidents and stuff...
Personally, if you go for it at $2,150 that would be a good and fair deal...If it got as high as $4,500 i would most certainly not bid on it. While it does have quite a few mods done to it you still have sooooo much work to do to it.....Not to mention the money you gotta drop into it....Body kit, paintjob, replacements here and there.....i mean with all that you could be up to $10,000 (including the cost of the car)....easily. My suggestion would be to find a almost finished car and pay the $10,000 up front. then you won't have to worry....or just keep lookin...there are 1,000s of Js out there being sold.
I dunno thats just my .02
it has some SWEET WHEELS!
Wow. i can't believe my car is on j-body forum. WOW!
Well first:
JAzer - it was my bro's car first so no accidents at all.
second:
savvy cavvy - well paint job and bumper and side skirts would cost only around $4000 and thats a great paint job with a fiberglass kit. so $10,000 dollars, i have no clue where you got that number but i tried to piece out the car and nobody wanted it so im tring to sell it now.
third:
James - if you know anyone that wants the rims, i will sell them if nobody buys the car for like $1000 + shipping.
b buckley, you havent bid yet, whats up?

First off....If you haven't seen my old cavalier....then you should check it out...cause i know exact pricing on everything and i know how much you can expect to spend on something like that.
Car- $4,500
Body kit- $975 (type j-body)
Install (fitment and prep work)- $400
Paint Job-$4,000
Total =$9,875
Car cost is a given. Body kit, that is the standard cost of the kit...it is the nicest fitting. not including shipping...some do free shipping......Install...You have to pay to get it fitted and preped....that is a seperate cost...If you went with a fiberglass kit those things fit like crap....and that would just add to the install and take away from the kit valve...it would come out to the same .Then they hook you up on the paint because of the full paint job. Paint job....a $4,000 paintjob....Thats doing it the right way by taking off all the old paint, pulling the windows, and doing all the jams....if you skimp on the stuff like that your paint job will either look horrable or in time it will start to peel or worse.
Thats how i got the total.
Other then that i did say it was a good deal because i know how much those GT Factory kits cost. and it does seem like you put alot of work into it....so don't come out here saying i don't know what i,m talkin about or where did i get these numbers from.
I am just trying to let people know what to expect. Nothing against you! I wish you the best of luck selling the car....it was not easy when i sold my cavalier....I didn't get nearly what i put into it.....But i got a lot of good memories out of it!

Hey - i just wanted to tell you this from West Virginia. Calls Scotts auto body and he will do a black pearl paint job with any color flakes or flames or whatever for $2500 ( and thats 7 coats of clear & prep work for everything )
and as far as a body kit, it comes with side skirts so you can get a body shop to do it all. Now i didnt say you have to go type J ( she did ) maybne she has got one sitting around, maybe she had a old cavalaier and decided to use it on this car ( THINK )
AND
im selling the car at price. It has a 'buy it now" only if it was a hot seller and somebody wanted it. if someones bid and doesnt win b/c of the 'buy it now' im selling it for the price they bid.
In my opinion with the car having over 100k miles, you shouldn't have to pay $4,500 regardless of the mods. Realistically the mods that have been down actually Lower the resale value, except the rims.
to the bank mods mean nothing like ^^ said , to the insureance company an alarm system gives you a discount
i got my body kit and installed it myself and had it blended to the car for less the 1500
Paint job depends on who you know. because i have a few friends who paid 4 grand for a paint job but then again if you know someone who owns a paint shop can get you a better deal.
My 2 cents
if L had the money, Id buy it, those are some sweet rims on there, love to have the door mod on mine. as far as $4000 for paint job, Yeouch!!!!!!!!!!!! I paid $2000 for my paint job, did a sweet job, but dont ever take it to maaco, they always say you get what you pay for, so the question is, how good do you want it to look? for that car, id have to spend the $$$$$$$$$$$ on the paintjob. cant cut corners there.
well all if it doesn't sell. im parting out the car so if you are interested in any pieces, let me know!
I think that's actually pretty good for around 5K. Considering the money already put into the car.
But you can get one brand new for around 10K or so now.
