I have been searching and am having a problem finding a conversion kit for the Mazda 5. I know that the Mazdas in Florida and Canada must have DRLs on them. I read in one forum that the dealers in Canada install a kit to put DRLs on the vehicles. If anyone can help me find a kit made by Mazda to install DRL, please let me know. I would like them on my wife's 2007 Mazda 5.

WTF is a DRL conversion? If it doesn't come with DRL's just turn the lights on when you want them on

Why kill bulb life??

Alexis: Dustin, you're ghey, lol. I am better. I have tits, and tits rule all.
Darkstars: DRL = Daytime Running Lights.
Darkstars & Geeds: Just turning on the lights when you want to dims the dash and radio to a level too low to be seen in daylight.
Satchmoe: Not all 50 states require DRLs that's true, but Florida does. As far as killing bulb life, I have had the same high beam
bulbs in my Z for 9 years now. Looks like the bulb life wasn't shortened by too much.
With the way the drivers are here in New Mexico, My wife and I have both had many close calls with the Mazda 5.
I have had fewer with the Z24 since they have DRLs. If you guys don't want to be helpful with finding out the information, just sit
back and don't answer. If anyone from Florida or Canada can help, I would appreciate the information.
Mike: Been here long enough that I am already flame resistant. Sometimes ya just got to consider the source.
Thanks for the heads up though.

Why not try a Mazda site.....it's so crazy it just might work

I know what DRL's are, I've just never heard of anyone wanting to add them, or a conversion to make it happen. I was thinking you maybe typed it wrong and you were trying to get rid of DRL's of you typed DRL thinking HID.
If your trying to figure out how to make them work the first thing I would try is the dealership, I only do VW's so I don't knwo how Mazda's work but with VW turning the DRL's on and off is as simple and changing the coding in one control module. Our cars come with DRL's but we don't change anything (assuming its a new car bought from us) to cchange the coding and turn them off.
If it's not a simple coding change then is time to find a wiring diagram of the car, wire up a relay that's controlled by the ignition switch to power the headlights. or even get some nice bright aftermarket fogs and wire those up to turn on whenever you want.
Its probably in the program. Both of my cars have the DRLs disabled by a simple change in the computer.
Jeff: I have tried a Mazda site and all I find is for a Mazda 3. There are a few people still trying to find out how to make their Mazda 5
have DRLs.
Darkstars: From what I could find out, it sounds like all they do is add a kit or relay. Problem is where do they add it too.
I have called a Mazda dealership in Florida and the part number they gave me I cannot find on Mazda-parts direct.com
Thanks for the help so far. I will keep looking.

A universal kit exists, we install them all the time (in Canada) on peoples cars they buy in the states to pass compliance. And this wont help you at all in Florida but Canadian Tire sells them haha.
