What with the measly 2.0T rated at 220hp(premium) or the even super fast 3.8L (310hp).Christ I'd rather buy a 'Balt SS/TC or even a G8

Your Genesis is no Cobalt SS, sorry.

Back on topic, this TA is awesome. What a steal at this price with so low mileage.

sweet , the only car faster than a GN or GNX stock for stock , think the turbo t/a even rivaled the ZR1

would love to own 1 of those

An amusing anecdote: The Turbo T/A was created to move all the unused 3.8 Turbo engines that were never used in the Buick Grand Nationals of the era. Sort of like how the 3.1 Turbo V6 in the 1989 McLaren Grand-Prix was originally meant for the never made next generation Fiero, or how the 3.8 Supercharged V6 in the Thunderbird SC was originally planned for a new Mustang SVO. In any case, I 100% agree that it's one of the few genuine classic cars of the 80's.

Another funny thing. Buick, at the time, thought of maybe putting these leftover engines either in the 1988-89 Electra Estate wagon or in the Reatta. Obviously that wasn't done, would have been funny if they had. What I never got is why they didn't put them in the 1987 Grand Prix, slap on a 2+2 nose, and call it the GTO. Would have been appropriate to be sure, and a great sendoff to both a classic nameplate and a car platform dating back (somewhat) to the original musclecars of the 60s.

I hate the fact that theres only 1555 of them it makes them way more pricey than what they would otherwise be, even in 1989 they costed 31k

blue book shows
$13,000 $20,700* $26,700

so it is a good price though a regular GTA firebrid is like 7000 lol

They are neat but I couldnt justify the cost for one. Im not sure when it happened, probably as soon as I left drivers training class, but I seem to have forgotten how to drive an automatic.

4th gen. J car>Genesis.

A better value is the Pontiac Firehawk. They go for less, are rarer, and much faster. Plus you can get one with a clutch, which is always nice.

I kinda always liked the look of the 82-92 best though, watching Knight Rider at an early age it was really the first car I ever loved .

Eh I don't really care for that body style. I think the 80 and 81 were a much nicer looking car... And it also had the 4.9L turbo =D
