My new car... Bought a Honda :)
Sunday, March 02, 2008 9:25 AM
Well yesterday my silver cav got picked up and then I left for the dealer since they finally got my car in.

I bought a brand new Vivid Blue Pearl 2008 Honda Fit Sport 5-Speed. One of my friends from high school was the salesman so he hooked me up. The guy doing the paperwork actually left to go double check with the salesman because the car was being to sold to me for invoice.... Fit's don't get sold at invoice Since it took a couple days for them to get me this model in this color they threw in wheel locks for no charge (I know big deal, but something is better then nothing). When looking at cars I liked the fit alot, after buying one and spending more time in it I love it, couldn't be happier. It's a 1.5L v-tech engine making like 110 hp, but it only weighs about 2400 lbs, its not fast by any means but its peppy enough for a daily driver. Anyways, some pics of the new car.

I started buying parts for it already LOL. Nothing major, I ordered the oem rubber all season floor mats and the oem pull out/retracting cargo cover.

So how long before the k20a goes in it? Nice, good color too, looks clean. Have any aftermarket plans?

There tiny, but I like them too. Work on them at work, seem like a all around good and purpose-full car

Nice grab man

no major plans, I want the HFP wheels (and throw snow tires on the current ones) and window tint, thats about it. I didn't buy it to mod it I bought it for a more practical daily driver, I wanted something bigger with more room.

they are small on the outside but huge on the inside. I'm 6'2" and i have probobally 4 inches more head room then I did in the cav, with the "magic seats" they have a freaking ton of room for all kinds of stuff. Its about the same size as my moms Toyota Matrix, just nicer

heres some more info... I was asked on another forum so I figure I'd post it here to

They don't have options.

There is a base model or the sport modle. Mine has power windows, auto down drivers window, power mirrors, power locks, keyless entry, cruise control, 200 watt 6 speaker sounds system with cd player and aux jack, ABS, the gournd effects and spoiler, the rims (base comes with 14" steelies, 6 air bags, intermitant wipers, imobilizer, turns off passenger airbags if noone on that side, fog lights, A/c, EBD system for the brakes, mirros in the visors, adjustable steering colomn, contolrs in the steering wheel, etc.. and the best of all is the "magic seats" in the rear.

Its a legitamtely nice car, especially for the price.

The magic seats are mainy the rear seats, they do all kinds of cool stuff.

(its raining so I found someone elses pics rather then taking my own)

Theres a couple different "modes"

You have the normal seating for 5.

The seat bottom of the rear seats is not flat to the ground, you can fold the seat bottom up and it locks into place and under it is all open. It's called "tall mode" basically you have the room for somethign as wide as the car, about 3 feet or so front to back and about 4 feet or so tall.

heres the one seat fliped up

heres both up

heres a bike in there

Next is "Cargo mode"

pretty straight forward, fold the seats down

Next is "long mode"

but it in cargo mode and the front seat reclines all the way back to leave big @!#$ space...

heres a pic of a tandem bike (the 2 person bikes) INSIDE the car

And finally is "relax mode"

the rear seats sit normal, recline back and both the front seats fold backwords into almost liek a big ass futon type thing.

this kid is 5'4"

and one last thing... some website was playing around with a fit and decieded to fit all this in it at once

"kept loading things into it, and I was able to get all this stuff into the car: one adult mountain bike, one kid's bike, one 8' 4" Surftech surfboard, one large cooler, one fully-loaded hockey bag, and one hockey stick. I was amazed."

I don't like it. Sorry. The Silver Cav was worlds better as far as looks go. I can understand your height problems, I'm 6'1 myself.

But if you like it then I'm happy for you I guess.

no need to apologize, if I was concerned with who liked my car I would have bought the Lotus Elise we have at work

I'm happy with it, thats all that matters

I approve.

Definately a solid daily driver, and an awesome color choice.

Plus it just makes the GTC a little less gay. Unfortunately just the GTC though, not the driver.

Why the hate, man?

The people of trance are supposed to be a happy accepting bunch.

Except for the techno viking ... that dick is just crazy ...

A guy at work has a red one. He has nothing but good things to say about his fit. Of course we all make fun of him just for fun though...lol He has a crack in his front lip. He said he hit something and I had to make a joke "what a soda can" lol. He loaded that thing with some gortex jackets for work. I asked him if it tired the mouse in the wheel powering it. It is a great car though....they do look tiny on the outside haha.

Meh.

But I'd take it over an Aveo for sure.

your right, it would have been better if I paid $600 more

these cars do not sell for less then MSRP, typically your lucky if you could even get on for MSRP with no markup, its only been in the past couple monthes that you've been able to easily find on for MSRP. And seeing as the car is only 15K new there isn't a whole lot of markup on the MSRP, theres not much money to be saved on these. So yeah saving $600 makes me happy, if $600 is no big deal you could send me another $600, I won't mind

I thought about waiting for the new modle but after seeing pics and stuff I decieded against it. Its ugly as hell (even compared to the current one LOL) and I will not buy a first year model change of anything, the introduction of the 2004 VW Toureg permanent scared me away form buying first years LOL.

And then by this time next year, the Elise would be the race car, the GTC would be put back to stock and sold, and you'd be buying another different car for a DD.

Not bad If I had to get a Honda, it'd be a Fit, I don't know about Blue.. though... it's going to have to be Christened GBF (Gay Blue Fit). There's a LOT you can do with those things, so I expect a good interim report on mods, bring them in Quarterly.

So you're ditching the silver Cav?
