Well, I just got back from my year tour in Korea. My wife has her brand new Xterra but I crashed the camaro before I left so I have nothing. I have a good friend I was stationed at Barksdale with, then Korea, now he is in FL with me. He has a 1993 Chevy Silverado. Its a 350 TBI short bed regular cab. Its kind of an ugly brown color but in pretty good shape. Right now the ignition is kind of messed up on it, but I know it should be too hard or expensive to fix. I've known him for a while so I know he's taken good care of it. It has brand new flow master exhaust, CD player, new alternator, radiator, upper and lower radiator hose, and a fresh tune up. He's looking to sell it and talking about selling it for 1k to 1500. I think its got about 165k on the clock. Oh yea and the speedo doesn't work. Tires are pretty fresh. Only reason he's selling it is because he bought an R6 and FL weather lets him ride it pretty much every day. He wants to just pick up a cheap reliable car for the winter and trips home.
So do you think its worth it? I think its not a bad deal and a truck would be nice. Always nice to have something to haul things in. Also a dirt bike or 4-wheeler has been on my mind. So it would be nice. Originally if I wanted one I would have to get a trailer and pull it with the xterra. Now I can just throw it in the back of a truck if I pick it up.
Oh yea, buying it and fixing it and re-selling for a profit is not an option. He really loves that truck and wants it to go to a good home. He said if you can't sell to friend or family then he'll just keep it and drive it every now and again. I couldn't do that to him.
First off WELCOME HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Second no dont buy it sounds like it will be a money pit
my friends truck has well over 300k on it , ive seen those trucks run hard , and harder , never put away and go over well over 300k
with minor care and tune up
What happened to the GTO?

Thinks for reminding me =/ lol. That thing went back so fast its not even funny. You know how they say you can actually return a car 30 days after purchasing it....yea...its true, lol. Well atleast that didn't cost me much money. Its a good thing I did though because with the trips home and my huge doberman it would be impossible. I can afford a GTO just not a GTO and a nice big SUV. I hate to say it but we need one new good reliable car. Wife has priority on that since she's always carting my daughter around.
Another F body for the win?
