Noise from the transmission - 2G Talon.

I know, I know. It's a Talon. It's a piece of crap. Anyway though.... I'm hoping someone on the ORG can help me out because no one on my DSM website seems to want to help nor has any knowledge of the problem I'm having so I'm hoping it's a problem one of you could help me with, it's probably not just a "DSM thing" because it's a transmission and it's not like they have some retarded special tranny.

Anyway, there is this noise that sounds like.... I can't even explain it... It sounds like... a vibration or something in the transmission. The noise only occurs when the clutch is engaged. When the push the clutch pedal the noise almost always goes away instantly, but is sometimes still apparent for a short time after. I was thinking it would be the release bearing. Worn out and loose in there, engage the clutch and the fork thing holds it tight on the fingers of the pressure plate. Well, after much effort of removing the tranny and changing out that bearing... The noise is still there. The old bearing wasn't worn or nothing so I had my doubts from the beginning but... I couldn't think of anything else it could be.

So what I'm asking is does anyone have ANY clue what else this noise could be?? If you need any other information regarding the car other than it's a 2nd gen talon with the 420a and it's a standard transmission, let me know.

Could it be the input shaft bearing?

Well not being familar with talons,I would tend to say it's one of two things that cause the issue. One is the flywheel may have a hair line crack in it causing the noise but unlikely bc u would here it all the time clutch engaged or not.Two is the bearings inside the trans are worn and making the noise! I had a similar issue with a manual trans throw out fine, pilot bearing fine but the trans bearings toast due to age, wear.Ur options are to get it rebuilt or use royal purple differential fluid assuming urs specifies diff fluid and it will help the noise and buy time but not fix the issue.Hope this helps and may others add or correct if I left something off.
