hey everyone,
I am putting aftermarket racing seats in my 2007 cobalt lt and i am trying to remove the seatbelt and i need to know the torx size of the seat belt plug. Its where the seat belt plugs in. Thats a huge torx and i need to know what size it is before i head to home depot and purchase a set. I have the sensor in my stock seat that i took apart and removed the sendor and put it in my racing seat but i want to run stock seat belts so my light doesnt come on all the time. Does anyone work at a dealer or have access to what size torx bit that is. I am thinking maybe its 3/4". Some please help me out. I would of posted on cobaltss.net but that site has been down all week and is still down so im thinking of dropping out and just being on here.
thanks
is it internal or external torx? If it is internal it is probably like 45 or 5o maybe a 55?

its the one on the side of the stock seat and when i pull the side cover off then i can see it. It is what is holding the seat belt plug on there. Here is a picture but the screw is on the other side of the seat and has the seat belt plug there.
I don't have a cobalt and have never worked on one. The picture doesn't help me much. Hopefully someone that has worked on one of these can help you out a little bit more than me. If you have a picture of the bolt I can help you more.
i can get a picture of the bolt tommorow when i am work and post a picture up for you. Please check back this tommorow morning if you can and i will post a picture by 730 am central time zone. I would like to pick up the right torx afterwork so i can get these seatbelts off and put them on my racing seats as im going to be welding up a bracket this saturday and put them in my car so i need everything else ready.
Alright I'll check it tomorrow morning.
why does everyone think that the cobalts have so much in common with js. this isnt a cobalt site, you would have much better luck there

hey heres pics for you. Thanks for trying to help me as everyone else is complaining in this topic which i dont know why.
THANKS
It looks like it is in the 35-40 range from the picture. You can get a set of torx bits at walmart in the tool section for about $15 or so that will have that size in it. Also advance auto carries a pretty cheap set that will get the job done. Don't try and buy individual sockets cus its gonna end up costing you more.
