Ok, so my buddies MK3 Jetta has this wierd thing where itll bog down under hard acceleration. Mostly, this is noticed in between getting from 1st to 2nd, and itll just DIE out. Sometimes itll stall as well. And to add to the confusion, this doesnt always happen, just whenever the car really feels like it. Also, it likes to stall sometimes after hitting a lot of bumps. We HOPE that its either fuel or spark, but arent 100% sure.
Only mods under the hood is an intake and also GIAC ECU. Anyone here have input? Im thinking it MIGHT be a fuel filter, but again, we arent too sure.

Well it would help to know the mileage, but taking into account its a MK3 VR, i'm gonna say its pretty high.... MAF sensor could easily be a major part of the problem you're describing, or an ignition coil. COULD be a fuel filter but not really likely. To really get to the bottom of it you need someone with a VAG-COM scanner and start by logging the grams per second of the MAF. Also, I'd post about this over on VW vortex if you or your friend haven't already, the tech forums over there have never disappointed when I needed a hand with something.

Milage is kinda hard to get, since its a swapped VR motor (was a VR6 for VR6 swap). Didnt thinking about the MAF at all though, and we are hoping its not an ignition coil. We could be able to get a vag-com though, and get a reading.
And yes, this is thr 3rd or 4th forum this has been posted on. It needs to be 100% before h2o in OC, MD....
