ok if toyotas are so good and have no proplems and run forever then plez tell me why my friends 1998 celica if falling apart. i would like to no along would she. that car is a electrical nightmare. the rear windshield wiper dont work the Power Antenna dont work the rear defroster dont work the lights on her center counsle that light up the P RNDL come on when they feel like it. the car pulls to the side the min you let go of the wheel. the paint is fadeing off the car. every speacker had to be changed because the all broke. now for the motor. 135K on it uses oil all the time. has NO god damn power what so ever. are friends ecsort will pull away from that thing and it had 126K on it. makes a funny sound when its cold and almost every AC pipe has rust on them. car is now for sale and shes geting a cobalt because she likes mine so much.
heres another one for you
my ex gfs 1994 camery with 116K. breaks falled on her 2 times like she hit the breaks and she got nothing. the last time it did that she was going down hill she put the car over a curb into someones front yard so she didnt hit someone else. safe car. the power window got stuck in the door because the motor broke. so she had to put a bag over the window. kept poping lights like there was no tomorrow. motor knocked and had a exhaust leak. and for the body. the rust on this thing is a liveing night mare also its everywheres the car looks like trash and now it is in the trash siting in the junkyard where it belongs. she now drives a 1998 ford taurus with 136K on it with no proplems at all.
My co worker has 90K on his later model Toyota Corolla (I believe a 2000 or something)...and he says it burns about 2 quarts of oil in 3,000 miles. He doesnt drive it hard at all. He said he bought a toyota thinking it would last forever. A check engine light just came on a couple weeks ago and he had to take it in to get fixed. haha....

every mass produced product will have defective ones.
in all reality, every car maker sucks, nobody makes a perfect car, theyre all overpriced and they all break, so theres no point to arguing over who is better because they all suck

all i got to say is if it dosent have enough power to break anything, most likely it wont break, damn, you think it would just be common sense? Look at the mazda rx-7, they tipically lasted to 100,000 miles and that was it, look at the TOYOTA supra's, not much better there, no way in hell a supra will last over 200,000 miles, you talk about why your car last so long, 90 horsepower, are you kidding me, what can 90 horsepower break on a car? It is a fact that cars with more power, are USUALLY less dependable, therefore more things break!!!!
^^^^nope, thats just gm's fault for putting drivetrain parts on our cavs that cant handle all that power.
riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. 90hp.............................................toyota tundra's have 90hp thats why they last soooo long.
I refuse to argue about this anymore.......I give up, Domestics are the bestest in the whole world! MO POWER!!!! I think I'll go trade my imports in tomorrow for more power so it will not last as long...........that makes sense.
There are plenty of Silverados (for example) that last just as long as a tundra and have ALOT more power....plus Tundras arent even full size...hehe.

2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71
actually, the 4.7L V8 tundra only has about 20 less hp and 15 less ft.lbs. of torque than the 5.3L V8 silverado. but the tundra has 32 valves, silverado only has 16, and the tundra has VVT-i so most likely it performs better.
also the tundra can carry more weight in its bed, but the siverado can haul a larger trailer
just based off specs, if i were to choose one truck, it would come down to who offers the best financing incentives, both are nice trucks

Yes, but the 4.8 liter v8 from chevy also has 14 more hp and 40 lb ft less tq. Which I am sure the vvti helps the tundra along. GM will be adding variable timing to thier trucks as well soon.

Yeah I drove a Tundra w/ a 4.7 liter....it is a lighter truck but chassis wise AND it was a 2wd. It performed great...but it was small...like a car. Definately was a good truck, but doesn't tow worth beans. The new Tundras w/ the 4.7 liter are good trucks, the older ones were pretty slow and even worse w/ Towing (I think they made around 245 hp). A simple tune on my 4.8 liter kills my uncle's new Tundra. But like I said, the Tundra is a nice truck just doesnt tow well...stick to a small boat or a few jet skiis.

Looking at the stats today, the 1500 out hauls, out payloads and out tows the tundra.

Makes sense, the Tundra isnt a full size....the 1500 is.

2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71
I thought tundra was full sized and tacoma was mids.

05 M6 YJ GTO 1 of 447
toyota calls the tundra a full size and the tacoma a compact truck
but if Gm really is getting a variable valve timing system, that will be sweet

There is no way the Tundra is full size.....but maybe it is, who knows. I know the 1500 is bigger in every aspect and also has WAY more interior space and headroom....I hit my head on the A-pillar of my uncle's and my buddy's Tundras everytime I get in.

2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71
That's pretty interesting since I've actually had my truck next to my uncle's truck and it was longer, taller (yeah his was 2wd so I expected that), and the interior is definately way bigger on mine. His is a 2003...I have no idea if they changed much since then.
Good comparator sappy

2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71
damn, that is a good comparison....but it seems that these days, just pick whichone looks the best, theyre all pretty similar
now heres a hit on toyota...I just talked to my brother who works for toyota, and it appears that the new rav4 is total junk, lots of recalls for drivetrain issues
