oh ok then... the way i took it, it looked like you were supporting him.  but in that case i retract my statements pertaining towards you(but i still hold my right to retract my retraction if future posts arise that would prove my defense).   Im not sayin your car was so and so weight cause power options and things of that such plus you having a 3400 brings the weight up.  I was just basing my information about him off of consumer car guide.  Ive notice since the new year there has been more people like nuse then there has the whole time ive browsed the org.  If the org mods dont step up soon and put forceful action towards people like him pretty soon there will be tons of people acting like that on here.

There's no such think as a stock 3400 in a JBody. There ARE 3.1 and 3x00 adaptations. The 3400 is a complete swap and not "stock." It's simple here. And Nuse, jesus christ, 15.9s are not good at all. People at the bash last fall were running 15.6s with their stock 3.1s IIRC.

 my damn 2ed gen ran (stock then i ported the head...like the 3x00 style and got a 1\2 sec better) 15.9's all day long and your retta is around 50 - 100 LBS lighter than a Z24.  ( ive owned BOTH wow! )
a GTZ is 20 lbs heaver than a 1994 Z-24 with power windows.  not enuf to take the Little old OLDs 4 cyl.

my 2ed gen was 2750, my 3ed gen is 2900, my GTZ is 2890........ i for got the site for the stock weaghts for the cars, but im pretty shure the L body was lighter

dude, I don't care about curb weight, I was talking ACTUAL weight. Ok? As in I've weighed my car at the scale kinda weight. And there's nothing wrong with running 16's with a tired motor. My motor had 167k on it, And joe's 88 had well over 250 on it,... lol
Excuses? I think not, there was nothing wrong with either cars, nor was it driver error. Most 2nd gen cars are in the 16's. Not all, there's a select few who went into the 15's but have much lower mileage vehicles. My Beretta was also a slushomatic... hence WAS.  the 2.8 in joe's 88 was a 5spd with an OE clutch.
