hey how are yas guys n chiks doin? im a newbie HERE but not to aftermarket, i am however not wanting to spend a million years looking up for what i need. i need to know the tricks of a few things involving the 2.2 ecotec and the styling of 03 model years and up.
as of right now she is an 03 cavalier base as u can get, 2.2 eco
mods so far are custom cai, straight from muffler back and around 500 lbx removed.
what i need to know is sum slight fixes so i dont have to either create a way or dig thru alot of crap. they are small things if i cant find fixes for are fine for now, but do need to be taken care of before this summer.
k neway onto what i need to know, service light is on due to removal of all of the sirs system and drl relay, <removed by a moderator> thanks all.
p.s. i own a 97 grand am that is now undergoing the biggest transformation she has ever seen and/or been through.

the 2.2 is a platform i havent personally dealt with, i need to know all the little secrets. ive tried the ones i know of, that i can do, to no avail. it cant be any that will put the car down for more then a cpl hours, shes the daily driver right now as the ga is on stands.

Not trying to be a prick, but I will warn you: posting about removing the speed governor in the newbies forum is not a way to make a good first impression. The general response will be to justify your need to go beyond 110 on a drag strip, meaning that you're bouncing off of the speed limiter before the finish line. Other than that, you're probably not going to get an answer.

removing the speed limiter for gay street racing is not a welcome question here. besides most races are over by 80-85 mph anyway

k i am only a newbie here because i am a newbie to the 2.2 platform due to the car being owned by my gf. she is REALLY new to the whole aftermarket world, something she hasnt lived before and wants to learn everything, since we are together and plan on being together for a long time, her car is in my car family now. with being in the family you are modded in some way even as a daily driver. since this is her baby i am going all out with her.... not gonna say what dont wanna give it away but the limiter isnt going to mean a damn thing to me. i dont mean to sound like a prick either but it seems like im giong to be labeled as the "bad" guy on this site, but so be it, it seems to come along with me. im just going to say for what is planned the limiter will put her in last in everything entered. i dont want to peeve anybody just want to know the ins and outs of the whole 2.2 system in a quick lil reference guide. if i have to search out everything like i always end up doing i will but i figured this looked like a good site compiled with good people that would help me out, least the lil bit, i do wanna say i havent and dont stop looking on my own but anything that helps, well helps. i know alot of people that own 2.2 platformed autos, but its different when you have one to stare at everyday, and im tired of the this might work and this might not and all the maybes etc etc etc.... i just need to know the equipment, programs and methods to get the most out of her and im sorry to say its not just how fast you can go its if and how long you and the car can withstand that amount of force and speed, and if it means taking the long drawn out methods of finding out for myself or unspoken ha then it will be done.
o yea even though im getting heat for being this "bad" guy im still gonna post some pics of her so enjoy if you like or hate on i dont care i guess.....
