Although new to these cars, I've been a member of many websites dedicated to the various vehicles I've owned over the years. The worst of the lot had to have been VWVORTEX. Everything covered in the intro post was dead on. I'm just here to learn, not battle.
I can't believe my luck finding this car. Less than 28,000 miles, still smells new inside, drives better than any car I've ever owned. As a bonus, according to many consumer sites, the 04 Cavalier is the most reliable of all years produced. Plus, I payed almost nothing for it.
I always had a stigma attached to these cars due to working in a military town and always seeing these cars on "buy here/pay here" lots or in the hands of kids who put so much money in wheels, tires and body kits they all started looking the same. Most of the time those cars were not well maintained and had lots of duct tape holding some parts and trim on. I believe this is mainly due to these cars being cheap to make, and cheaply made, in earlier years. This one has definetly changed my perspectives a bit, or maybe I'm now biased.
Listed in my profile is a list of things I plan to modify. Where I run into problems is trying to hunt down the info online. I'm not that proficient with computers and most information just confuses me, as in way too much to choose from. What I'm looking for is a one-stop source for the stuff that I want. If anyone lives in the Hampton Roads area I would also appreciate updating this post with recommended paint and body and upholstery shops, speed shops and audio shops in the area.
I'm also looking for anyone who knows of any clubs in the area or would like to start one. And, yes, I did a regional search without success. Not all clubs show up on these sites.
Welcome... lets go through your first 4 mods:

# Performance plugs and wires
# Red Line fluids
# cold air intake
# throttle body spacer
You don't have plug wires, so those won't help ya out much

Red line fluids are nice
Cold air intake gives a lot of noise, but not a lot of power
Throttle body spacers do nothing on our cars
Again, welcome, hope you enjoy the stay, feel free to ask questions and search around for info you need ,most of it is out there, but reposts are what the newbie forum was created for...

Hey, i feel you on the car! I got my 04 with 18,000 miles on it in june of 06 and it only has 24,000 now! Still smells new too!! One thing you will notice fast is the rattles and noises in the cabin. It's probably because of the cheap materials used to build the interior, but if you read around the forum, you can find some tricks to rid the car of noises.
