Another newbie...
Tuesday, February 28, 2006 5:01 PM
Been lurking for awhile here, but just now signed up. Of course I'm just now getting my j. I should pick up the title Sunday.

It's my brother-in-law's car. He was on here for awhile, sunbirdturbo69, I believe.

Anyway, it's an '88 Sunbird GT. He's put quite a bit of work into it, but he has a new project that's got his interest. That and the car needs some engine work, probably a total rebuild. That's alright though.

Hopefully I can get it back on the road soon terrorizing the mucho rice around here.

Oops. Sorry, I meant around where I live. Really didn't read it too well and didn't realize how that sounded. Been a crazy couple of days for me. Started a new job after being with the same company for 7 1/2 yrs and just found out tonight I'm gonna be able to get the car that I have been drooling over forever.

Thanks for the welcome.

There is almost nothing like hearing that T3 spool up and then the BOV sounding off. Gets a lot of attention. Even when it still had the T25 and not the BOV, it made some dude in a probe spin around and almost hit the deck when he heard it spool. My friend said he had a look on his face like, "WTF was that?"

Here's a pic of the car...

Can't wait to get it back on the road.

Thanks for the warning.

The last time he took it to the track, 1/8 mile, it ran an 8.83 on street tires. I can't remember if that is with the T25 or T3.

As soon as it gets broken it, it will be back at the track. Hopefully busting egos.

It beat a 5.0 so bad that the guy just grabbed his time slip and left. Another time he had a guy in a 240 conversion run from him and refuse to line up with him. I had to hold back my laughter.
