its funny cuz i still talk to the guy i bought mine from to show him whats done to the car. he is really happy to see it went to a good home, even if it is just a cavalier. its good to know how it ended up.
I sold my car less than 2 months after it was done at one of the most reputable body shopes in Maine. The body work and paint were flawless and I was in love with my exterior mods(even if I didn't get attached to the car, I was very pleased with it). My Cavalier is now owned by a high school girl who has had 2 front end fender benders. One fender, front LS lip, bumper all banged and scuffed to @!#$. Interior is garbage cuz she smokes and painted the interior door handles and some random ass buttons on the column with like fingernail polish (not kidding). And I heard that she went through the BRAND NEW clutch already....
My old Neon also got bought by a high school girl who WRECKED it, then had it painted some generic teal that was nothing like the 3-stage BMW color I had on the car when I sold it....
No matter how much you spend for money or time to get a car perfect, the next owner COULD trash it. I never got emotionally attached, but I sure was bummed to see each car that I poured my creativity and money and time into had gotten trashed and riced by the next owner.
Good side of the story? Selling modded cars to high school girls with daddy's that want them happy and have the cash means you get asking price or damn near it every time

And my vents are painted... have been for awhile.... not in a tacky way though... I wanted it to look stock..
I had to sell the first car I ever really cared about.... at least I got rid of it before I did anything to it other than exhaust...
Some young bitch bought it.... the next time I saw the car it had a freaking bra on it..... the car had beautiful canary red paint and she put a freaking bra on it...
That car wasn't any special though (2000 Tiburon 5-speed)
After that.... I made the decision to never sell any car that I modded or put work into... I will be the last owner of both my Sunfire and Motorcycle that I own now.. even if they sit in a garage collecting dust some day.
Thats my car and no one else will over own it....

I didn't even build this car and I'm attached enough that it pains me to see what has been done to it.
When I sold it the only things that needed to be done were the paint on the door needed fixed, the front bumper needed repainted due to chips and the such and it needed wheels. That pretty much sums up most of it, there might have been a bit more but I can't think of anything off the top.
This kid hasn't fixed any of that, spent his money on neons/paint/stickers and burnt the clutch and destroyed the flywheel...
It is really sad. The car deserved so much better, but unfortunately he came up with the money first so...

That's why you just never sell your car. I never plan on selling my 03 cavy. Mainly cause I wont get jack for it. I'd rather keep it and appreciate it for all the hard work i've put into it. Plus, not many people want a car with a roll cage in it...(going in after the turbo build)

It is just an extra cost. Manufacturers make cars to go no more than 65 mph max. Even going 65, if you hit something, or something hits you, it would be safer. What would it hurt?
