Ok those headlights do sit over part of the bumper, so that means that part is either not painted or not painted well. You also painted the back bumper bar/support (whatever you want to call it) , which in that bumper will always show. That is just crappy!! You painted the mess in the frontand everything behind it because you did not tape off in the front, just @!#$ty !!!!
I would not be afraid to drive a pink cavy, but it shows it was not the best job in how the car was taped up or lack of.
Thats what i was getting at. its one thing to paint it with the bumpers on but mask of everything around them. i think you could of thrown some plastic over the tires too for the time being. i know there not staying on there but now you have to clean them.
i know you said your taking care of the over spray so hopefully you black out the rear bumper support, the mesh and the front of the bay
why is everyone bitching about the colour lol, imo pink looks hot on some cars I was debating on painting mine pink cause its different. Plus its for his gf and its a daily driver i would assume so who cares if it has some glitches.

I agree with Justin
Good job man keepin the g/f happy it will be a great surprise to her
what kind of wheels you gonna put on it?? i think it will either make or break it.
pretty damn good present though i must say!
you guys are way to picky. my gf i HIGHLY doubt will be removing the headlights anytime soon to see under them. the bumper isnt bolted up tight so i painted all of it. the back support will be painted black. all the mesh will be painted black. and its getting my old mr4's that are being painted black
nice car prep could of been better of course, and my opinion I wouldnt give my girlfriend a car for any reason, end up wrecking it or braking up with you and trying to take the car. bad decision on graduation present, ya couldnt just buy her a necklace and keep the car for yourself? cause you will be really pissed if ya brake up believe you me
maybe its just the pics, but the paint looks thick............how many coats?
Still a good attempt, for a 4 hr job that is....

Lol
It looks good for a pink car. I like the wheels you got on it now, just 2 tone them black and that pink and lower it and it'll look good.
It's a great present tho, good job!

once you black it out, post up some more pics. i bet it will look 1000x better. paint looks great for a 4hr job
Why the heck didnt you pull your windows before you painted it? The paint is going to start to flake off around them. Iv been down this road before.............

a simple taping up the windows would have made clean up alot easier. I know thinner will take it off but still man, come on.

funny thing is. everything WAS masked... everything that needed to be was. i guess i dont understand what everyone is talking about with masking and removing...
I just think you should have taken your time in prep. Preparation is everything. You should have removed the headlights and properly covered up the wheels and internals. All the windows should have been properly covered too. Overspray is ugly, especially when it's on parts of the car that shouldn't be pink. The paint looks nice, the color is sweet, but it's pretty obvious that it was a rush job. I hope that the final stage will look great!

Ok I get that you say you had spray mask on the windows etc.. Great. The rear bumper brace, did it really need to be painted pink, to then be repainted black so it does not look like crap? You say you are going to be painting the bumper brace, mess etc.. Great so if I ever see the car driving down the road it won't look like crap!! You posted up unfinished photo's on the org what do you expect. The work they show looks like crap. I would be willing to bet money there will be sopme pink paint in places that should not be when it is said in done (if someone went over the car in person). I realize it is for your girl and she might not care soo much, but if it is worth doing it is worth doing right.

thank you for being educational. and yes unfinished pics probably werent the smartest things to post up on here lol. the rear brace didnt need to be painted i agree but i didnt feel like taking the half hour to back tape the holes when 5 minutes will fix it. besides everyone knows im the rattle can king
post up some daylight pics, and lets see this car done like you are saying it will be, maybe our opinions won't be so harsh.

looks good but you should have torn the car down bumpers headlights mirrors stuff like that and painted all that stuff black first then left it off and
masked it off the painted the car and all the parts and then put it back together it would have been a nicer final product and more than likely saved
you more time in the long run cuz now you have to go back and take a chance of getting overspray on the pink but other than that it looks good
cant wait to see the final product
