yeah, can't take them off until they either:

1: brake the welds. Which is not likely because we welded the entire block on

2: Drag them to where they are no more.

I had fun on my way home from Best Buy Today. I was playing with it at a red light, and next to me there was 2 cuties in a Mazda 6 pointing and had the OMG! look on their faces. CLASSIC!

Like I said. Its my car, and I love it.

I don't need approval from anyone on my car. You don't have to like anything about it, because I love it and thats all that matters.

To many people get caught up in other people's opinions and start working on their cars accordingly. But thats not me, never has been, never will.

The panels are straight, the car drags, and well.... I can't say it enough.... but, I LOVE IT! I like the Fur. 99.5Z% of the population hates it. Which is great. Because I drive the car, I pay the insurance and gas, and I pay for the work gone into it. So I am happy, and that's all that matters.

If you don't like it, than oh the hell well.

Wow its going to be quite comical the first time you hit a curb with that block and it rips out your subframe and the car ends up totaled at Besslers just like your Second Gen, I pray to god nobody innocent gets hurt.

Other than that I have to compliment you, it looks as though you completed something on your car for once more than 75%. Don't tell me you like your rocker panels bent to hell and back and having those front air damns hang down like Grandmas gone wild.

Why the hell is everyone telling him what he should have done, or what he needs to do now. Be happy that he got air on it for christs sake, I mean come on. I may not like the fart can, the primer red, and the carbon fiber parts on a blue body, but give the man some time to get it all done, not everything comes at once for everybody.

@!#$, my car looks the way it did the day I got it over a year ago, besides wheels. It takes time when you have to work hard for a living and also have to drive it every day, not sure if his is a DD but mine was until 2 weeks ago.

Edit: Not everyone cars to live by what other people think, if there were a huge poll here on the org for me to get a body kit and neons for my Camaro and everyone said that I should, I still wouldn't do it because it's not my taste. I don't give a @!#$ what other people think about my car, it's primer black and gloss black with orange peel like crazy, everyone tells me it looks like @!#$ but I don't care because I know in time it will be fixed, but that doesn't mean it's ok to scratch it.

Everyone here is too worried about what everyone else thinks about their car, @!#$ that. I build my car for me, not for the retards that think image is everything. If I want my car to look like a rust bucket, then that's what it will be, if I want it to be the hottest car I have ever seen, then that's how I will make it. My car is for me and no one else.

Well, I haven't been here long enough to see most of his work and projects, but speaking from personal experience it takes a while. Although I do believe that when one project is started it should be finished before going onto the next.

LMAO !!!! I just realized that guy welding on the plate has his head directly under the wheel while the car is solely behind held up by a hydraulic jack. I hope nobody else here does that!

I noticed that too, I would never dream of being under a car without the whole front held by jack stands, not just one side but both.. almost had a near accident once like that and it will never ever happen again.

well first if you have never draged before or have no clue what you are doing when you drag dont tell him he is going to rip his subframe off. i think he is smart enough to know no to drag over a curb. come on now thats just common sense. and i have been dragin like that for almost a year now and mine is probally just as straight as yours is. hmm gotta love when people talk crap and dont know about it.

true whenever i work on my car, i use jack stands on both sides and i jack the floor jack up enough to put alittle pressure on the pinch weld. just a little extra back up just in case.

car looks good though. i dont know anything about your past or past cars but i think this one is coming along nicely

Hmm I think I know if you have a giant block of metal which is sticking down lower than any other part of your car it definitely increases the probability of bottoming out and potentially catastrophic when its not shaped like a skid. Theres a reason our cars have a skid ramp, weld on something thats lower than it and is not curved your car will just stop rather than sliding over it.

I don't understand the idea of draggin and all that, but the air ride seems like an improvement.... good job

Please put paint on it, not that flat/satin black crap.

What are you going to do about the exhaust? looks like it'll get ripped off
Re: Oh it drags!
Monday, March 12, 2007 12:08 PM
well we have air ride and you be suprised how it goes over things you thought it wouldnt. i have never had one drag block come off while dragin. you know when to drag and when to lift the car so you dont drag your block on a curb or sewer or something. you just raise the car up and it goes over anything. at least thats how me and everyone i know with air ride drive our cars/trucks

Re: Oh it drags!
Monday, March 12, 2007 12:38 PM
Yeah Im not debating its fine when your on level road, but basically the car in stock configuration is meant to have that skid bar there for reason, there are circumstances, esp while in the city you are going to bottom out and if that block gets caught on a sewer lid sticking up in a construction zone or a bad curb it is going to tear the hell out of your sub frame. I have seen guys in mini trucks hit them and total their car, but usually thats on the way to a show or they catch part of the frame.

Not to mention dragging is illegal and if that sucker is permanently welded on there and a cop sees you are are screwed! If you cause and accident because of it you are facing some serious charges as well as one hell of a civil suit.

or just angle the blocks forward so they dont catch and ride low enough that when you hit the brakes the front smacks the ground lol i love bags

Monday, March 12, 2007 1:16 PM
yea they arent as big of a deal as you are making them. i have never hit mine on anything that i havent wanted to hit.

X2

Except for the fact that its just the muffler and tip that came with the Magnaflow Cat Back, so eh. I'll change the tip out, and tuck the exhaust up more later. And the red primer.... Yeah, can't say I'm happy with it myself. I still need to finish it up, but the weather's now turned so that I can work on it again. Hopefully this weekend, I'll have that area finished up, and get it re-primered in black for the time being (full 1/4 panel).

Now.... for my drag blocks. If a cop would happen to see it parked, and know what the hell its for, I'd be surprised. And if I wasn't caught dragging, and I was questioned about the 2 blocks which you can barely see underneath the car, its a simple answer. Those are there so that I don't lay the transmission pan on the ground and damage it. And if he wants a closer look, and see's that they are angled (which are from dragging) all I say is, "they are angled that way so it doesn't catch anything." Ticket free.

I know when to drag, where to drag, and all that. I am not going to be dragging down the interstate in a construction zone, or going down a road I know to be rough. And even when the road is rough... I can raise it up to stock height with a push of a button.

Like I've said before in another post. I hang out with a bunch of mini-truckers. They are nicer people in general. They don't rang on you because your car isn't complete. They don't start crap because they don't like someone's car.... They are simple, easy going, and will help you with any thing you need done. Now of course, there are those that think there @!#$ is better than everyones. (hmmmm. like some people here...) But those aren't the best people to hang out with.

I think Yellow22 can agree with me on this. Mini Truckers make the best friends, and put on the best car shows. Why do you think ITB is such a blast, and success? Because it was founded by Mini truckers, and still mostly about mini-truckers.
