Original posters car looks great so far, needs paint.
California needs to see that cobalt, maybe a california speedway day. i dunno.
My Car
personally , borgs cav is 1000% better looking than mulls
i understand the show car thing , but there is alot better cars here that are drivers
wether its your preference or not mulls car has the most time/money/effort/love/heart into than ANY car here.
wether you like it or not it deserves major ups for his accomplishments.

and you and everyone else is allowed their opinions.
but as for the driving the car issue, you really can't take a car to that high a level on the show scene and drive it everyday.
my car isnt anywhere near bobs. not even close by a long shot. but i see the wear and tear we put on our fire from when we drove it daily. if your goal is to build a show winner. the car isnt meant to be daily driven. u either play to win or you go home. there's not half assed if you want to be at the top

GOD I love that headlight conversion, it makes the car look so much meaner. It looks good man.
As far as Mull's car, I personally liked it when it was all black.
Have a good one,
Justin
BEWARE THE WHALE TAIL
sndsgood wrote:[quote=97cavie24ls(JDM cav sedan™)]why would you want you car to be a several hundred K trailer queen , thats 100% useless
headlights look good
i dont know bobs car is pretty good at picking up 1000$ checks at shows for best in class.
ive seen him pick up 2500$ worth of prize money at one show.
not to mention national media exposure, relationships with major manufacturers, and butloads of free gear.
besides, some people enjoy building there car for car shows. not everyone is using there car as a daily driver.
not to mention.. didnt chevy give him a friggin COBALT

id build that car if it got me fame fortune biotches and a free cobalt
I cant wait until next year when i get my silvia headlight swap. dont know what kinda tail lights im gonna go with. mulls car is a great inspriation to mine and ill never get close, but its nice to think about....

dont agree with that wat so ever. i like his car an appreciate the work an time an watnot, but i like to be able to drive my car daily and sport the cavalier image without worryin bout if a got a scratch or a chip. some peoples tastes are jus different than others, i like mine with stock body lines, an am def. all set with swaps and widebody an etc.. but to others, thats their things an they enjoy it so all to them. i like to see the hard work of others so im glad peoples styles are different. makes a diverse scene.... anywho, nice headlights

lambos are still the gheyest thing thou

woops

Why dose any post that mentions Bob's name or car become a flame war? Like it or hate it, his car serves it's purpose well. Each generation of the EvilZ made improvements over previous versions. This last iteration was amazing. Do I like everything about the car? No. But I respect Bob and the rest of the team for putting it out there and getting J-Bodies some needed recognition.
Now, back on Topic...
I love that headlight conversion. Not a fan of lambo doors, but it looks like you are making some nice progress. Take styling ques off of whomever you want, just please don't copy the entire car. Make it yours...

Performance cars do not win car shows and show cars do not win races.
It's up to you to decide which you'd rather win.
my plan is not to copy mull with my car,i was just pointing out the similiar things between mine and his, i have z3 fenders and aerogear hood while he has ram air hood and widebody, he has lexus tails while mine are celica...as for interior my dash will be custom built but nowhere near as extreme as his, color of my car will be candy teal, you can see the color on the door panels...thanks to everybody for the feedback, i know everybody likes and dislikes certain things and thats cool, thats what makes us individuals

You make no sense.....Its still driveable....more driveable than your car and almost any other car on here. You dont HAVE to worry bout scratches and chips, its not like his paint is less durable than yours.....i know for a fact you would trade your car for his if he offered...And if u wouldnt, u have something wrong in your head. It is **THE HOTTEST CAVALIER*** in the world. Thats been proven like 100 times over.

most of the show judges tend to agree w/you
I'm tellin' Uncle Ben!! You stole his RICE!!
"premiere cavalier" coming soon to a street near you!!
how can you give him crap about a personnel prefrence ? everyone is in this for difforant reasons. the simple fact is hell yeah i would take mulls car in an instant , would it be practical for me no it wouldnt . i would have to have a car to drive also a trailer to tow it too shows so all of a sudden a car that you just dumped mass amounts of money into you also need to dump yet even more money into it to get it to shows. hey its the life of a car shower. i respect all of mulls work cause lets face it he has done wonders for the j community , give him props for that at least
Mulls Car is nice I like it for what it is. Don't like that Dash too much but it is diffrent.
But I wonder how Mull is going to do at shows like HIN with the new
Competition

I would never take Mull's car over my own. At least I can say I've paid for every single modification done to my car. Bob Mull can't do that.
i really do love every time my car is mentioned it really does turn into a flame war but its ok the first two stages of my car i worked 2 jobs just to pay for the stuff on my car so maybe now that i have sponsors i didnt pay for all of it but damn man gimme a break anyways ill see ya this year with the cobalt
i heart stage 2, wow, that's nice.... and the final stage, welll let's jus say if i ever get the chance to hump it.... it would be worth being thrown out of a show to do that
1st 1st gen on air.....
i meet Bob Mull at Tuner War in Hershey this past Feb i think. nice guy, not what i was excpecting when i meet him. but heck of a good guy

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
hey Bob sorry i got this started, didnt think it would get like this.....i love your car but thats what i'm into anyway, like i said before can't make everybody happy

Mull's car is faster, and the engine has more potential to be faster.
All depends on if you want a car that wins National shows or small local shows I guess.

I love the headlights, they are my favorite by far, if I had more time and a car to drive outside of mine, i would do it for sure.
Mulls car does what it was designed for, win shows. And it does it very well at that.
It all falls back on do what to your car what you like, dont let others tell you what looks good and what not, some people like the park bench rear bumper... not my style. Some like lambos some dont.
There is alot of work into the car, regardless by who, to me it doesnt matter, there is for sure alot of time in it, and I respect that.
Ian's sig says it best, Performance cars dont win shows, and show cars dont win races.
If I could turn my cavy into a show only car I would in a heartbeat, but I cant afford to do that at this time so I gotta keep it a daily driver.
To each their own.

its all good anyways i really like your car the tailights look great so do the headlights
installing without removing the fender was easy for the most part, turn the wheel all the way left, car doesn't have inner fender liners so that helps too, remove door panel and unplug any electrical items, unbolt the hinges from the car and remove door, bolt the new hinge to the car then the door to the hinge, lift door and install shock, make sure the shock is silver down and black connected to the door part, put them in the other way and it will break over time, this was posted in another thead to warn people
