Shush Weasel..i want my shirley temple
any lower and i wouldn't be able to fit my jack underneath it!
i knew all of you were gonna be all like omgwtfbbq!!1111!
if anyone cares to purchase an extremely low profile jack, be my guest
I have a 2x4 stepblock system I drive up on........try something of that nature...it works for me, and it took me 5 mins to make, a drill, a saw, some 2x4, and screws. It steps up 3 levels.
Or do like I do, and use your factory jack to get it high enough to get a floor jack under it.
I keep both in my trunk just for safe measures.
I have to use one 2x4 and a 1x4 board to get a jack under my car...

SLAM IT!!! jks looks really clean

i don't own a god damn show car, hell, for that matter i don't a race car... YET
i'm redoing the front mounts today/tomorrow... more pics in here to come, i might post them in the suspension forum so people can understand what i did wrong and not make the same mistake
ok, this post might as well be put in the suspension forum as it turns out i'm learning/informing more than i'm just posting pics
i didn't know how i was to explain what i did wrong with my koni/gc setup so i decided to make a video (no, not pron.... keep dreamin)
RIGHT CLICK SAVE AS PLEASE 6MB WMV FORMAT
that should give everyone the idea of what exactly i did wrong
that is what the strut tower looks like now, after about 500 miles
i'm currently switching the mounts to my 2000+ mounts as i don't have the proper hardware to make the pre-2000 mounts work
wish me luck, more pics later
ya i was going to say that you missed the bottom cup washer, but you allready noticed you did it wrong. a word of advice, use the 95-99 mount if you can, just add the bottom cup washer. i had the 00+ mounts and i had such horible binding between the top hat and the mount that you could feel the car shake when you turned the wheel at a dead stop. i ended up having to get the 95-99 mounts and i have yet to have a single binding problem. just a heads up
i found a pic....
its hard to see cause its small but the little washer ends up going inside the metal part of the strut mount since in the design for the 00+ all the weight of the car is resting on the rubber inside the mount, and since the washer get pushed inside the top hat of the coilovers rests on the metal of the mount, and as you can imagaine when you rest all that weight, metal on metal like that you get a hell of alot of binding.

i honestly wish i could use the 95-99 mounts as they seem much easier, did your mounts come with the washer that goes on the bottom????
back on go the wheels, wish me some more luck...
ya, the cup thing you have to pry apart, one of the pieces goes on the top and one goes on the bottom. go here..this is what i used to do mine.
click me
my bad, the cup that you have to break apart to get the two pieces you only use one of them, then you take the cup washer out of the top and use it on the bottom. sorry its been almost a year since i did mine

so im a little rusty on what to do, just go to the website it explains it all there

see! i knew i was missing that piece that should go on bottom
HOWEVER the 00+ mounts work like a charm mothafuggas!!!!!
I'M SO GOD DAMN GIDDY!
here's what i did, with some help from "04 ecotec LS Sport" (thanks a ton dude)
used the stock part from the 00+ mounts, with the supplied washer that goes on the underside (provided by GC), and lubed the piss out of the bearings with lithium grease
WORKS LIKE A CHARM! WAHOO!!!
while i work with my mounts that work (for now) i'm going to look around into getting pre-2000 mounts that come complete with all the hardware...
needless to say, i'm happy with how it's working now and until the mounts go, they stay
on another note, i turned my konis to full firm and OMGWTFBBQ!!111!!!!! i feel like a god damn bobblehead doll inside.
IT'S GOD DAMN AWESOME!
damn I just now noticed this thread hhahaha nice cody
Man thats good info, thats also how i mad e the 95-99s to work.
