No its not too wide, i know of a sunfire that has them on his car. Depending on the offset and the modifications done to make it fit.

I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only "retard" that was running wheels that were "too wide" for my car.

"Too wide." Ha.

I'm planning on running 225/40R18's on 8.5's in front and 235/40R18's in back with a 9. I know it's possible... but I'd like pics as well.

It's not a matter of being too wide. There's no such thing as too wide... you just need to make things fit.

How does it help to have wider wheels on the back if our cars are fwd? just wondering not trying to bash anyone or start crap.

So it looks better! our cars are more narrow up front, and I believe our track width is wider up front too. So it automatically makes our rears look more inward towards the car. A wider wheel in rear will make it look more even.

Staggered fitment is what they call it.

X2. There isn't really any performance benifit for FWD, it's mostly just for the look, and it does look good on our cars.

a 17x9+35 would definitely be possible in the rear... there's so much clearance... but I still want to se proof.

it also means you can't get directional tires unless you want to have them dismounted and mounted every time you go to rotate them.

ok lets see if this works

The tire size is 235/45/17 but i will be changing that all around. The rear is streched looks cool but id like it if it was a lower profile, and i do have spacers in the front and rear so if one looks at the toyota fender it seems to be more clearence for a wider wheel in front or a bigger spacers. when i had the stock fenders the 17x8 did stick out . they are hub centric spacers . i think its possible to go with a 9.5 inch tire in rear and 9 in front maybe i should put the 9 in the front to see what it looks like. different offset but ill see if it works.

What size spacers did you use for the rear Toyota 24 S? I need some bad for mine.. I was thinking of going with the 1/4 thick spacer.

my offset is i believe positive 38 i went with a 25mm or 1/4 inch spacers all around .I got these from a company called TC sportline. These are not the spacers by themselves it comes attached with studs and its hubcentric. I put the other kind of spacers and my wheels didnt go on evenly. its not noticible when one looks at it but when i took my wheel off there was stress on one of the studs and broke off. so ill never install those again for safety reason i believe eibach sells some like the TC sportlines i know they come in bigger sizez which i migh go with in the front to fill in the gap or just put the rear 17x9 in the front and hope to find a 17x9.5 so i can put on the rear and keep the 17x8 as a spare.

Thx.. Since you noticed stress.. Im not sure if I wanna get those spacers.. I just wanted to see if there was a good spacer out there that makes a noticable difference and that you dont have to get longer studs.

Thanks for the info.
