Hey Guys, I'm new around here, I got a 98 sunfire with the izuzu tranny. Here is the story. I was driving nicely along turned a corner a heard a loud clunk. Didn't think anything of it, pothole w/e etc. Keep driving and then i hear it again every time i take off or turn. Sounds kind of like its coming from the passenger side. So I get home expecting to see a fubared cv or something. I couldn't find anything. It seems like the wheel is binding. When i turn or take off. So my question is I think it is my spider-gears. Can i replace them or would it just be better to put another used tranny in? I know I can do the job myself I'm just a bit scared seing as how I feel much more at home under a 4x4 then a fwd car.

kinda strange for spider gears to just go out. but hearing that there is a noise from take off--straight i'm assuming, wouldn't be from the spider gears. going straight won't turn the spider gears. maybe a bad/broken motor mount?
