ECOTEC Intake Manifold to accommodate boost?
Wednesday, October 12, 2005 8:20 PM
Well, I plan on boosting soon and was seeing if there was any intake manifolds I could possibly go for.

Now, I know of Snowman talking about using the Saab 2.0 ECO Turbo Intake Manifold a while back...would it flow much better than my stock one?

Are there any companies out there to support it? I know that Twistec had a log style a while back but I think they went out of business and I know the GM one they offer is made for the LS1 TB but you'd have to move the radiator to fit it.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

saab 2.0 is all I figured, our stock manifolds flow great enough for now..

the saab one is metala dn somea rgue heatsoak... I dont think so, but everyone is entitled to their opinions, i think the stock is best for now

venom hasnt produced any dyno graphs or anything for theirs and 700+ is ridiculous to me

^^^ yeah I know about Venom and yes, $700+ (last I saw it was 900) is rediculous for an intake manifold

your local saab dealership...its around 180...but if you make friends with the parts guy it will be about 145.

i have tried the number at work (chevy dealer) and it comes up as a fuel filter or something. So its a saab only number. And to my understanding there is only a coupel in the us, if not you got like a month wait from europe.

didnt the gm testing prove that the stock manifold is good for up to 400hp? you can spend money in other places 1st that would make more of a difference.
just my .02

also i know hahns portfueler manifold. if u just want the manifold i think its 700.

13 psi and climbing......

Yeah that's what GM says but why not have an alluminum manifold that could possibly more freeflowing than our stock plastic manifold. Even on the plus side for me, I have a P & P head so I can port match it if I wanted to.

lol, adam, $700 for an intake manifold is CHEAP depending on the quality and the gains. Good luck finding an intake mani thats made well and actually makes power for less than $1000

Yeah true, depending on the quality and power gains...then yes, it would be worth it.

Unless your gorals are upwards of 300 whp, why would you even want a new intake mani ?

really unless your exceeding 15psi or so the stock one is good enough, you would be better off putting that 500-700 into the emanage ultimate or going for the portfueler system
