whats the diff between a turbo and S/C....i heard one blows and one sucks or something?

WTF. A turbo runs off the exhaust and is capable of more power and a super runs of the cam or belt and gives power all through midrange.
they both suck.........nitrous all the way
but serously, both do the same thing, blow and suck.....they suck in raw air, compress it and blow it into the engine

HOW THINGS WORK!!!!
type both into there....great website. thats how i started out learning. basically they both compress incoming air.
the major difference is that a turbo uses the exhaust gases to spin the turbine while the supercharger uses the belt to spin the blades.
a supercharger has parasitic lose it has to overcome before it can give off a gain as well since its running directly off the motor.
oh and supers give much more the midrange...they are def the better choice 8/10 times for initial power since they give out boost as soon as they spin faster than a certain point which is almost immediate. a turbo takes some time to compress enough air to build the needed boost...we call this turbo lag, or V8 helper.
