Hey guys,
sorry about whoring u the boost form with pesky s/c install questions. But i have to drive the cavy to and from work one day this week, and have to drive to gm dealership for reflash. Now i know somebody ziptied open their boost bypass valve, but i don't want to risk bending it. When does the s/c build boost? Could i simply just drive really slow? I have everything installed and will just be running stock map sensor till its replashed.
Thanks for any input!

i beat the piss outta mine , i think it ran better before than after
but i havent driven it alot after the reflash
when does the s/c build boost? what rpm.

it depends how far down you push the pedal , lol
if you have a boost gauge , it will tell you
but if you keep the rpm up , and use the engine speed to increase your speed , youll hardly dip into boost , but the farther you push the pedal the faster itll come on boost
i kept mine under 2000 rpms, and had no problems.
(although the drivers behind me didn't like seeing 5...........10..............................15.................................................20............. mph lol)

just baby the car and u will be ok.
i dont have the reflash. in fact my first fuel set up = 135k miled stock fuel pump, HO injectors and a FPR was all i ran. I didnt blow it up suprisingly!.
(that has all changed now)
good luck
like i said , i beat the snott outta mine , on 89 octane fuel the night it was finished
so i wouldnt be as scared as lot of people will lead you to believe
i will say be prepared for it to be a dog right after the reflash , mine rev'd up like a mack truck , lol
the more i drive it the better it seams to be , and the a/f ratio is alot more stable now , but it was richer before the reflash , then after
cool

well its one. reflash isnt till friday. Stuck a one way check valve on by mapsensor. Will TRY To baby it. Took it for a spin, runs a little ruff, but rich from injectors i guess. (little blue out back on start up). But i did run it to 3k..didn't see any boost on boost gauge. Have it tapped off fuel line. That work?

i used the stock 1 bar map , and switched to the 2 bar after the reflash
i didnt use anything to block the boost signal to the map sensor
kinda sucks you gotta wait tell friday , for what takes less than 20 minutes
mmm.. think i'm going to test the boost tomorrow on the way to work. So if i munch it, it will hit boost at lower rpm then if i baby it? (guess so, thats what u said). After having a turbo set up on cavy (couple of years ago), i always thought s/c was would go into boost at certain rpm.

it should start building boost at a certain rpm because its belt driven. the speed of the suercharger increases with the speed of the engine so it doesnt matter if your babying it or not, when you hit a certain rpm at light or heavy load it should go into boost at the same rpm everytime.

i hate to tell you but your wrong
the throttle position has alot to do with everything , even with a turbo
i should ive got the s/c on the car now , and i had a turbo on my other car
i can keep the vacuum gauge at or near 0 and stay out of boost , from idle to redline
just cause the s/c is driven off the motor speed , doesnt mean boost will come in a 2000 rpm(example) everytime if the vacuum siginal to the bypass valve isnt strong enough , it will never close to allow for boost
if you dont know what your talking about , ZIP YOUR KEY BOARD !!!
Just drive SLOW and keep the rpms low adn youll be fine... thats what I did and I didnt have any problems.

you're right....i didnt take into consideration the bypass valve. i know how superchargers work, just didnt fully think about it....its an honest mistake. and i know how turbos work too, go easy on the throttle and the engine doent produce enough exhaust to spool the turbo. i built my own turbo kit and installed everything myself on my own car. i absolutley do know what i'm talking about....no need to be an a$$ about it.
