only thing i dont like is the lack of front bumper support. (unless you are going to use it?)
plenty of people have set up their intercoolers to work with it, weather you cut a lot of it up or go below it (which you obviously couldnt do). having at least some of it there would be a more professional installation in my book.
he mentioned that the a/c and such were removed due to this basically being a race car. most drag cars won't have bumper supports either.
right, and most "race" cars have roll cages for safety.

Actually it was removed due to weight, just like the rear one was... and all of the interior including the dash, carpeting, rear seats, spare tire, and stereo... A roll cage is being put in the car, so there is no point to have it anymore... If you knew me you would know that i am all about speed and performance, not looks... everyone is entitled to their opinion.... my opinion is... less weight = faster car...
PS: I installed the intercooler before mike ever started working on the car, and the intercooler never moved during this whole upgrade.... just everything around it...
PPS: It is getting retuned and going on the dyno on friday.... so ill let everyone know what it makes on the stock engine
good man for playing it safe.
you arent telling me anything i dont already know on the weight reduction front. i try to save OUNCES on my cars

i would just rather not sacrifice the SAFETY aspect of the car. but since a roll cage is going in, ditch the bumper supports. more power to ya.
if you wanna get some more off get you're cut off wheel out and cut the crush bars in the doors out.
you get the spare tire well cut out yet? how about replacing the lower radiator support brace with an aluminum piece? oh and drilling holes into the rear deck and 1/4 panel supports?

i think i have only $400 into getting my hotside and mani done. its just some food for thought if your looking for the quicker spool.
For Hot Jet coating?
it was $235.40 for getting the Jet Hot Jet 2000 on the manifold. And 123.50 for the hot side of the turbo. It is their highest rated coating. Lifetime warranty. They said i could take a hammer to it and if it comes off, it gets re coated for free. after i race down the 1/4 if i wait and let it sit for 15 minutes i can touch the hot side of the turbo already. Well worth it in my opinion. I talked with jet hot and they explained how it insulates the pipe and keeps the velocity up and underhood temps way down!!! i would do it again in a heartbeat. if you email them they send you a huge manilla envelope full of information and knocked more off for inquiring about the stuff.
I believe in Hot Jet coating, but those prices. I can get a manifold done for $40, turbo center section for $30, piping I think is $10 a foot.
FU Tuning
from JET HOT? not hot jet. that may be another company...
you do know jet hot isnt the only place in the world that can do ceramic/heat prevention coatings, right?
just about any professional powdercoating company can do it as well...
i dont know if they have a lifetime warranty though. that would be a nice asset...

im sure others do it. i think its white lightning in canada does it?
but ceramic coating is not the same as the jet hott stuff. high temp pc is not even the same as ceramic. its free and easy to get a free packet. just request an extimate.
Just got quoted $400 to send them my mani, and exhaust side of turbo. have them both stripped for $50 and have the turbo coated for $110 in extreme sterling, and $200 to get the manifold done in extreme sterling. took me 5 mins to fill out a quote form.
well worth the price.
i sent my request to them last night... no word yet... i read all the info on the product lines... and since they are right here in the valley, i am sure i can get it done for less...

yeah i would not doubt it. what coating did you end up going with for the quote? i would think the extreme sterling would be the best for you. the 2000 is nice but sometimes they says its too much. our cars really do run right on the line of which coating is best. im interested to see what they price for you!
they said that the extreme sterling cannot withstand the heat of turbo apps and recommend the 2000... but yeah, still no price...

really? because my egt does not go above i would say 1500. which the Extreme Sterling is good to 1740... hmmm. i guess i dont need to recoat mine then since ive got the 2000. the thing is with the 2000. i want to say the only one of their locations that does the 2000 is in the south east of the US. cant remember exactly.
i believe hpc bought out jet hot and they are local, and i get sweet deals over the everyday customer too

so if aaron wants to coat everything then it will get done when the engine comes out to get rebuilt. i am excited to see numbers tomorrow............ dont know what these engines do once turboed but i was thinking around it will be ~260-270 whp at 10lbs with his setup

So its gonna lose power? lol... thats new... remember it already made 250whp on 6psi with the old setup... i dont see how it can possibly need more boost to achieve the same numbers... i am guessing 290whp on 10psi... i say if its closer to my number then Matt has to buy an AMMfab kit... lol...

Agreed. I drove it man, I know it'll spank on a C6 (LS2, appx 300hp) Vette at least. **Never underestimate the capabilities of the ECOTEC, last guy (Bottle fed Eclipse GS-T on freeway) who did that to me (N/A Setup Cavi) went home with his 'tail between his legs' so to speak with it all on camera to prove my point.**
"Vroom."
"Yo I wouldn't race him, there's not even an interior in his car man."
"Vrooooooom PSSSSHHH!"
"Oh sh*t. F*ck that, dude..."
woops i meant 8lbs.......... im guessing at 10lbs it would be around the 300whp mark. remember its got some headwork on the intake side and its gonna be tuned. i would think a stock eco with a bolt on kit and no tune would do about 240 whp u know.

idk if id go past 300 on the stock motor, it'll cash out sooner than you anticipate.
and the c6 vettes are 415hp now. zo6 490hp.
i couldnt buy an ammfab kit, costs more than my car..lol

wow just going over receipts, i found my jet hott receipt, it was 238.40 for both manifold and turbo. i though it was more at first. but thats what my total was. but i had an internet discount though.

That was for a log manifold though correct?
correct. log style manifold for i believe is was 160, and the hot side of my turbo for $100 with a discount figured in for when i did an internet inquiry. also they stopped sending the packets it looks like. i dont think i still have all the stuff from it but i hope i do. the online one kinda sucks and is not even close to as good as what i got from them.
I was quoted 350-400 for my turbo mani, turbine housing, and downpipe. That was the online form...
mine was quoted $310 for entire turbo, log mani, and downpipe. sterling.

Geez where the hell did you guys get the coating prices?? lol, waaaaaay too much :p My Turbo, log mani, and downpipe was less than 200.00 bones.
