Deciding on injectors. Car in question we turboed is a 97 sunfire 2.2l, We knew that we would need to convert the injectors over to top feed, but we also just read that they only work with 99+ high impedance systems after searching some threads.
What are you 97 2.2 drivers using for injectors ( approx 8psi on t3 turbo )? Can we swap ECU's and use the red tops on these cars?
if you do a top feed conversion, and your car currently has high impedance injectors, you should be able to use any high impedance bosch style injector. Thats assuming you are using the 2200 fuel rail, and not a custom one.
Well my question was don't 97 have low impedance? So id be adding high impedance to a car expecting low impedance injectors. Is there a way to compensate for that? Or does it swap over fine
you should measure the resistance in your injectors to see which ones you have. They are not interchangable, and you would need to get the correct impedance injector.
