Im in the process of buying a new turbo and right now i have the 48 ar t3 exhaust. would a 63ar bolt up to my downpipe without modifications. basically does anyone have the 48ar and 63ar housings around that could do measurements for me.
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
i'm pretty sure those housings are interchangable.
it depends on the outlet flange style.
if you are staying with a t3, you should be alright, but check to make sure it has the same bolt pattern for the DP.
Im not talking about changing the housing but asking if anyone knows if the 63 would bolt up to my 48 ar down pipe. and yes the one I have and the one I want are both 4 bolt. but are the bolt spacing the same and if the 63 sticks out further than the 48 which would cause the dp and turbo to not bolt up. I have my wg re-routed so if it didn't work then I would have to have another dp made.

they should be swappable.
the higher ar has a bigger snail, but the center of the turbo shaft to the bottom of the exhaust flange is going to be the same. there shouldnt be noticeable difference in the thickness either.
cool. and I want to go with the t3 63ar hot and 60ar cold 60trim wheel. I have tried to do the charts but I dont think my math is right. right now i get full boost at about 4g with a t3 48/42 45trim. about what rpm would this fully boost at. i have adlers old 2200 head. 5 angle valve job, ss valves, mild p&p, and stock the rest. but new.
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
actually i would say 3000 maybe 3500
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
higher a/r = higher rpm boost....so i would say more like 5
What does yours fully spool up at. I know its a different setup. just wondering
DRIVE HARD OR DONT DRIVE AT ALL!!!
dont know....im still babying it and breaking everything in before i get on it to much....as me again in a couple weeks
how much boost you plan on pushing?
