Where, what, and how?

Hey everybody, im still pretty new to the ecotec realm soo bear with me please, heres my story:

Im about to go off to college, therefore i am trying to cut back a little on fuel when im there. i currently drive a 2000 model camaro z28, and although the ls isnt too bad now and about 17mpg, id like to do a little better.
im looking at getting a pretty clean cavalier, later ecotec model, and bumping it up. the thing is, im not gonna be happy with it unless it can run a little faster than my z. i know its not going to happen overnight, believe me, i work at a garage, ive seen how long it takes to get something done right lol, but what im wanting to know is where can i get good internal parts for a ecotec? im wanting to push at least 300hp, perf. more turbo'd, but i just want to know where i can get what i need. im planning on rebuilding the entire motor if i do this, so i want about the most radical turbo cam i can run on the street, forged pistons and rods, mabe a crank depending on the price and what the car can handle. i have a lot of faith in this motor because ive saw a lot out of them. I can do my own heads and work.

thanks for any input,
Mark

allecotec.com
turbotechracing.com

There are others but I can't think of them off the top of my head. There are all those parts available for it and it should easily be doable if you are knowledgable about turboing a car and the related parts. I would also pick up the ecotec build book.

Ok so you want better fuel mileage than what your Z provides, but you want to make your Cavalier faster than your Z. Know what that's gonna do? It's gonna throw your mileage benefit out the window. Sure the J will have better mileage than the F even after the mods, but all the money you're spending (wasting?) to make it faster than the F will be more than you would have spent on the F in the first place. You follow?

Buy a beater to save fuel with, and keep it a fuel-sipping beater. Put your money into the F-body and make it a real beast.

i was condidering that for a while, but i have a 1998 camaro that is at the suspention shop being built to run stock in the nhra, so i already have a fast camaro, 10 point cage and all that.
i understand that the milage will suffer, and that i should probably invest in my camaro, but im not gonna have a place for two cars, i have to leave the drag car in WV when i go to college in detroit.
btw how do these cars run and sound with a turbo cam? do they lope? i figure theres more than one so tell me which one too please
