Driving without the reflash
Thursday, March 20, 2008 6:08 PM
I just received my giant box from UPS, and I'm trilled. I also got the full color install manual, bound and everything I've heard mixed things about driving without the reflash. The dealership is about 2 miles away from me, where the speed limit is 35-45. Would it be ok if I drive the car without the reflash after the charger is installed? Am I supposed to have the standard MAP sensor installed until the reflash, then swap for the 2 Bar? Let me know guys, I'm pumped!

I drove my 04 to the dealer that was about 15 miles away. I just kept it out of boost till I got
the flash.

You have to keep the 1 bar in there until you get the reflash, the ECU will get half the MAP reading if you use the 2 bar, making it run like crap.

The one-bar and two-bar MAP sensors look the same, just have different part numbers, A quick search here will tell you what they are. You Eco MAP sensor however is completely different than the LD9 one so that info wouldn't help you much anyway.
