I was about to bolt down the head onto the block with the new Cometic gasket, and I notice that not all the water jacket holes on the gasket match the holes on the block/head. The ones on the block/head are an almost triangular design, while the hole on the gasket is a small circle hole way smaller. Is this of any concern?

Thats normal for many gaskets, even stock ones.
yea the engine i just got had a stock head gasket on it.. and when i pulled it if the holes are all round on it exactly the same as my cometic head gasket.. so i dont see any reason it would be a bad thing.. if you got your OEM one layin around just compair the two... if you dont let me know i will snap a few pics to show you
