has anyone had their 2.4L SC ported? if so where did you have it done? what did you pay? how did you like the work? and what kind of difference did it make performace wise?
(i ask because these are supposedly already s-ported from the factory, so i would think they wouldnt gain much from additional porting... but who knows... that is why i am asking)

Stiegemeier porting for me. www.stiegemeier.com
Not sure what they are charging now, but I sent mine in for a rebuild/port/exterior polish and I paid about 980 including shipping.
Performance wise, iat's are lower, and I noticed more top end pull also.

Here's a crazy idea. Find out EXACTLY what S-porting is (and I don't mean by staring your 10th new thread this week), and compare whatever it ends up being to what is usually known as "porting" of the s/c, as offerered by Stieg. Call Eaton, ask THEM what S-porting is, and why they do it.

Stiegemeier ported and rebuilt my supercharger for about $500. ( I am still kicking myself for not having it polished. ) I don't have any numbers because I sent the SC to get ported before installing on my Cav

I already made a post last week asking what S-porting is, and didn't get any useful info, so i went off to find my own answers. According to shops that do porting, they claim there is no difference in porting and s-porting. they say s-porting is just a term they use to make it sound like something special but the s merely refers to the new shape of the intake port. No one who does the work will explain exactly what they do (for fear i will copy then and begin my own porting shop or something) everyone gives me the same generic cut and paste dialog about the EFFECTS of porting, and not what porting physically is or what it technically does. i just get "we modify the body of the charger to be more efficient, thus lowering temperatures and increasing flow."
and in case you hadn't noticed.... threads are also called "topics" when you are talking about something new, that is a NEW TOPIC, you click the button labeled "new topic" and guess what... it starts a new thread!!!!! it is a "crazy idea" known as organization. instead of starting one general thread called "my car" or "almost done" or "need help" and then going into 12 pages covering your entire life story.
by breaking it into separate topics, and using titles properly, people can quickly scan through the forum and if they see a title they can help with, they will read it, and hopefully answer. Not everyone has time to read through 10 pages of conversations just to answer a question that you asked on page 8 on something having nothing to do with your threads topic. this is basic common sense.... I apologize if i broke your idea of forum etiquette.
I am glad you are not a web-designer, i imagine you would also feel the entire web site should fit on one page you have to scroll for 10 minutes to get to the bottom. and the only things you ever clicked on would be the words "click here"
also, good job on being a regurgitating coward. Sit there with your mouth shut until someone else speaks up, and then you hop on the band wagon and say nothing of use, and merely repeat the same thing the first guy said. Forums always need a bunch of those... much like the bully in high school who always has the panzy sidekick who stands safely behind the bully repeating his insults from a safe distance. Yeah i always felt worse for that kid than the kid being picked on.

In trying to sound all educated and sophisticated, you completely missed the inherent point of my post. I said call EATON, I didn't say talk to shops that work ON Eaton units, I said talk to EATON. You know, the guys who MAKE the thing. Perhaps, and I know this is a stretch, but just MAYBE they'll know what this "s-porting" is that has had your dick fully erect since you first read about it. Nobody here has the definitive answer you so dearly crave, and frankly most are sick and tired of seeing it come up. If you're too damn lazy, or just not bright enough to know how to properly use the search function (like the nOOb you are), then you can expect to receive this type of treatment. I've been here six years, I've taken my lumps, and I learned how it all works. And I tell ya, if you hadn't just explained the whole forum concept to me now, I wouldn't have EVER known. For that, I owe you a debt of gratitude, Obi-Wan. I hope that tick turns into a kaboom, and you run along to buy something else that isn't a J.
Oh, and FYI, I made my 10-thread comment before I had even seen someone else say it, rendering your whole last paragraph to be nothing much more than verbal diarrhea.
Go back to playing with Jeeps.

To help get this thread back on track. When you get your sc ported they will also polish it meaning that the casting of the runners where it goes to the head will be smoothed. This is the same thing they do when they polish a head.
Porting is making the hole the air flows through bigger so it is less restictive. Polishing is making the casting in the runners smooth so it flows better. I will admit I am not familar with S-porting. When you get a sc ported and polished it is similar to getting a head ported and polished in that "port" making the opening larger and "polish" making it smother.
When stiegemeier did mine they polished the opening where the air enters at the tb smoother and the same on the each of the runners. You can have them port the hole where the tb mounts so it is bigger for a bigger tb. The flange where it meats the head really can not be enlarged very much just do to the shape and design the same goes for the head on the intake side

Rather than making 20 posts in the boost forum. they put these things on the top of the page called sticky's for people like you that want to know about porting, widebands, or like stated before, everything else that probably can be found by searching. thats why the button is there. Its just getting annoying seeing all these questions that all can be answered by google, or the sticky's or searching on here at the top. simple as that.
Careful Vincent, he'll call you a schoolyard bully for saying that
