Just checkin to see how many kilometers on a stock motor people have put on since they had the GM SC cause issues on the eco.
How many miles did the car have when the SC was installed?
How many miles does it have now?
What SC problems did you have along the way? price to fix?
Thanks
zero problems , zero costs

Thanks guys... anyone else?
i'm at 91,000 miles. s/c not installed yet but will be going on very soon. hopefully before 100K.

Same here other than about 7,000 miles on mine
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
i probably have 10-15000 KM on mine...no problems yet
Hmmm, put the charger on around 37k miles, currently have 76k No issues aside from one rod through the block

got over a year and about 10,000 miles on mine at various altitudes, and not a single problem yet.
what tossed the rod thru the block?

I believe he was running high boost levels and the 02 were notorious for weak rods....same thing happened here as well
does the 03 have any known issues with boost?
03+ have weaker ring lands but if your going with the Gm tune don't worry about it which I assume you are using.
and when I say don't worry about it Im talking about moderately safe boost levels (the 8 -10 psi pulley they include)
I am gonna install the kit...do a cat back... and an intake.... and never mod it again

Uh huh, sure....

I put the charger on at 26,000, I have just over 74,000 on it now, so roughly 48,000 on the blower and have had no problems on it at all, other then the belt rubbing on on the ac line and making a hole in it.
hahaha airtonics.
i am serious, thats all i am gonna do for modding. Daily driver, and it has to last me the next 4.5 years untill my mortgage is due for renewal
Thanks for the input guys
ill probably have near 85k when i put mine on, hopefully i wont have any problems.. would a heat exchanger be a good thing to install at the same time?

lol notorious for weak rods?
2 people put a rod through their block and all of a sudden 02's were notorious for weak rods. I went 2 years on 10-14 psi before I screwed up and seized my 02...
for all you know your tune could have been bad, bad plugs or whatever....
now late 03's, all 04's and 05's are notorious for weak ringlands

I'm willing to bet not matter what year my rod still would have snapped. Even the new ringlands being weak is questionable, detonation maybe? Either way I've never known a rod to snap from a bad tune.
I beat on the car every day to and from work and raced it regularly (autoX, drag racing and one open track day). Either way way mine seemed to be an over time thing, every motor can take some power. The questions is always... For how long?

Blower put on about 20,000mi
Current Mileage 32,000mi
New belt for 3.1 pulley which cased squealing $50 PN# 12597993
Save your money. It might be worth something someday.

X2
also I read it in a post on here I believe that showed the differences between each year Ecotec.

that was me.
I am just saying there have been probably over a dozen late 03 to 05 ecotecs that have snapped a ringland. I know of 4 personally in my area...
I dont even know 4 that have snapped rods in an 02. The 2002 Ecotec in the J Platform is by far the strongest stock form ecotec motor

That's exactly why our stock '02 LS Sport sedan got a full rebuild via the dealership last year at 34,000 miles

.
My o2 has 65,xxx miles on it, bout to be boosted for next year. We'll see how it goes.
My 03 has almost 100,000 miles on it, no boost and no engine problems.
