I have heard from many people with the 03-05 Ecotec supercharger kit that there is some odd problems with it such as a cut-out upon acceleration and weird idling.
The last I heard was that GM was working out a reflash for their faulty program.
Is there any progress on this?
yea I am having that cut out upon acclerration problem.
ther is no reflash......gm's solution was use higher octane....
unless you can actually make it mess up and record it w/ a tech 2.
which ben may beable to do.
YEA BUT SEE i TAKE MY CAR TO WORK AND MY GIRL DRIVES THE SUNFIRE SO i NEVER HAVE THE SUNFIRE AT WORK. SO IT KINDA SUCKS. BUT i WILL SEE WHAT i CAN DO CAUSE IT BUGS THE HELL OUT OF ME. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED SHE WAS STAGGING HER CAR AT THE TRACK. YOU KNOW HOW EMMBARRASING THAT IS WHEN YOUR CAR DIES OUT AT THE STAGGING LANE.
IT SEEMS TO ONLY HAPPEN WHEN YOU START FROM A STOP AND GIVE IT LOT'S OF THROTTLE. WHICH LEAD ME TO THINK IT IS A FUEL CONCERN. LIKE TO MUCH FUEL.
I've had GM Europe and GM Racing look at my printouts from a data logger and nothign so far. I was told GM was working a new reflash but sounds like that won't happen based on Snowman's imput...he works at a dealer too so sure he's correct.
I've not had the problem in about a year now I guess. Seems it's either corrected itself or a change I've made corrected it. I've always used 93 octane too...so I know that' not it.
I did change my plugs to the LTR7IX-11 plugs...seems to have made a difference for me. But, like all SC Ecotecs, each are their own thing and one item works on one but not another? I've changed exhaust too since then...Iperformance header and full 2.5 exhaust.
Not sure what to say about your question other than yeah it happened to me, but doesn't anymore. I've ran the car hard too...drag, track and daily driving.

it stop doing that on me too. but that was after i went to a 3.0 pulley and intercooler.

SO NO BIGGER INJECTORS OR RETUNNING. i AM GETTING THE DUAL BYPASS COOLER AND THE COLDER SPARK PLUGS. BUT WITH THAT i SHOULD BE FINE RUNNING IT AT THE TRACK?
Seems each Eco is different....a couple folks have had problems going to the 3.0, some haven't?
I don't know myself yet...got to get it on there to see what my A/F is and then see what I need to do.
I'd say try it and monitor...not sure if it will work for you or not. Like I said...the Eco reflash seems to work differently on each car.

HMM MAYBE i SHOULD GO SAFE AND RUN THE 3.1 FOR RIGHT NOW.
That's what I ordered...a 3.1 and a 3.0.
Not put either on yet but thought the same thing...get both and run the one that has the best A/F.
