The HKS and Greddy valves are very good valves, though the HKS is probably the better one due to it's sequential valves and "never leak" design. If you're looking for just sound I personally think the Greddy Type S sounds awesome (I have it on my car) but the HKS does sound pretty nice, too. Either one you choose will work very well. I would suggest that you SHOULD NOT get a knockoff.

TiAL 50mm. Sounds freakin awesome to me. I had a 1G DSM valve and it gave up, ie. lots of compressor surge. Put a TiAL 50mm on and it works. And the company is in my home state.

I picked up a real Greddy Type RS, it looks real good and I cant wait to install it with my setup (have yet to use it yet).

I also got a knock off version of it from a friend and it looks similar but you can tell its shoddy quality and very inferior.

I know I wouldnt use a knock-off and I havent even used the real one yet, lol.

From what i can figure out (no one I have asked knew) the springs are to control the manifold vacuum at which the NOV opens. I assume that the higher springs are to help the BOV hold closed at higher boost pressures. Just a guess.

there are quite a few that are going to work well, and are good trustworthy companies. but alot of it comes down to which sound you like. id personally stick with the hks ssqv (which is what i have) or the greddy type s. but thats only due to personal choice, i like the sounds they make. and the companies are reputable companies. knock offs = no no
