yea i probably will put some grooves in the pipes and use the adhesive as well... its quite a headache. yesterday i wanted to drive my car so i had to go out in the middle of a pouring rain storm and lay in a lil stream/puddle think that was going down my parking area to tighten the damn pipe back on... now THAT was fun........
im full of questions today...lol .
how did you turn the turbo like that?
just unbolt repostions and bolt back in? cause im wanting mine to blow down like that. to save on piping.

lol its ok im bored at work...
yea if you loosten up the bolts on the compressor housing you can rotate it. its kinda neat how it works, those arms that connect to the bolts are what tighten it to the other piece lol. youll see what i mean when you look at it.
ok ill have to check it out... when i get my turbo that is.

oh i didn't realize you didn't have one yet. which are you thinking of getting? any ideas?
i was thinking super 60... but there hard to come by for a decent price. so im thinking of running a T3 45 trim. smaller but i there was a 2.2 ohv on here that ran the same one and put down 221 hp on the dyno... so that would be enough for me.

im not sure if youd go for a t3/t4 hybrid but i loooooove mine. ill never go smaller now. its 48 ar turbine and 70 ar compressor. so the turbine side allows for it to spool up quick and the compressor side gives it great top end. i mean if i step on it, theres virtually no lag, once it gets to 5 vac which take almost nothing, it will instant spool to 9lbs. i was anticipating a lil more lag but it surprised me. and my boyfriend whos an s/c man was expecting alot of lag as well and he was like "wow i didnt know a turbo could do that" lol it was pretty funny.... and in the same respect, its easy to drive around town without hitting boost. then again if you go more than 1/4-1/3 peddle its not, it wants to spool but if your easy on the gas its good.... im in love with it, its the perfect turbo for me lol. so much potential that i wont need to upgrade for a long time...
then again, now you could consider me bias
where did you get your turbo at?

Don't waste your time with a 45, it's basically a heat pump on the 2.2L. Go straight T3 with .48/.60, 60-trim. It will spool rediculously fast still, but the compressor will actually be near peak efficiency, so air temps will be cooler.
Jazer, sand the pipe ends down, and then make an epoxy "bead" around the end. I've actually seen DSM guys hold 20+psi doing this, just leave plenty of time for the epoxy to dry

but i didn't have the computer in the wheel well, so it was a bit easy in that spot.
forgot to add.... im confused?
The older OHV's had the ECU in the wheel well where the horn was, I wasnt sure on your year if you did or not, and now im assuming you don't.
And yeah, almost all my charges pipes are welded, and I haven't blown a coupler in the longest time. Ive got little beads welded on the ends of where I have my couplers.
You guys might find this funny, but i have a rather small turbo, .42 baby!, and its pretty good, but i got it for free from a buddy, I will be upgrading to the exact turbo you have.
ohh i think i do remember hearing that now that you say that. no my 02 ecu is up by the passenger side strut tower...
btw video is in photos & media section!!
i think i found my turbo
Garrett model number: TB0344 (T3 series turbo)
Compressor Trim: 60
Compressor housing A/R: .60
Turbine housing A/R: .48
Horsepower Capabilities: ~300hp
Internal Wastegate: Yes
Water cooled: Yes
Wastegate setting: 7 psi

personally id prefer an external waste gate, but alot of people use the internal ones without problem. thats just my personal opinion. size wise it looks good for what you said you wanted for your set up.
jazer.... what size turbo are you using and do you have a stock or modded head ..
im designing a turbo setrup for my car and im not to familer with turbo sizing
also are you at stock comp ratio
don't feel like writing all the specs lol, check my registry...

has specs on my turbo and all the head work...
ok sorry i figed you were like every one else on the org and neglected to updade (me included)
what kinda hp and tq nums are ya planning for ( or hopping for )
i try to keep it updated
i gues id like to see numbers between 200-250... preferably closer to 250. i have a sort of a similar set up as imphat0260 and hes around the 240-250 hp/tq mark so id like to be up there around that. I think i have a hair more headword done although thats if his registry is updated and i cant recall what hes running for boost either.
by the end of next spring, if money prevails, i should have my spare block built and by that time i have big hopes for the lil OHV. Id like to get it well over the 300 hp mark and into the 12's....
i know this sounds kinda silly but it gives an idea on how my car is running. its still in the tuning process but its getting therre, seems to be getting pretty close to where we want it.
but last night my boyfriend wanted to see how it compared to his SS/SC off the line. so we did a quick lil pull, i think i maxed out 3rd gear before slowing down. once i got into 2nd i started climbing on him and once i got into 3rd i blew by him... he couldnt tell how bad of a launch he got (he may have been spinning alot of tire) but my open wastegate is so loud it was hard for him to tell. i know overall his car has to be faster it didnt make sence to me but kav was running real strong last night so it may be pretty even. and his SS is a mid 13 second car before we put in the stage 4 clutch and lightened flywheel, havent run it at the track since then.
the second test of the day was an srt-4. he was in front of me at a light, and as soon as it turned green he gunned it... come on i had to... lol.. i did to and hopped into the left lane and started pulling on him, i cant remember what gear i got into, i believe once i got in 3rd i started to pass him then we had to slow down. it sounded like it was a modded srt-4 but hard to say. all i know is he did put an open wastegate on and a bov.
needless to say i was very happy with its performance and that really helped give me an over all idea where it stands power-wise. i know im deffinatly over 200 whp, although i dont know how far.
And my last thought......who said modding the OHV isnt worth it.....
