I don't think I will be buying a manifold from you guys, sorry... *eek*

Thats my wonderful photo skills there....if you are familiar with external gates, which as a sales rep. you might not be Cody, there is the flange before the turbo....to bleed off the excess pressure before it gets to the turbo, and one in the downpipe to get the bypassed gas into the exhaust stream.....
Thats my bad on my WONDERFUL pics....

That was the first manifold we ever attempted to make for the 2200, we've improved since that one and when you see pics of the new ones, i'll bet you'll change your mind. Sure we can grind down welds to make them look pretty and all flashy, and "perfect" but are you honestly going to spend the time and take care of an exhaust manifold to maintain a nice CLEAN appearance? But hey if ya don't like them, then what can i say.... don't buy one...

I don't mind dirty welds, the main problem with your collector is the flow path...it's not smooth. However, that comment was more towards your lack of design comprehension (where does the wastegate go?) lol...I didn't realize you weren't personally the one making them

on our first one it came right out the side of the collector on the manifold. Your right i didn't personally make that last one. Ryan does all the major welding at the shop. The J-tuners looks to be off the down pipe. We will most likely be re-maiking this design from now on for the 2200 if anyone wants them depending on how they turn out ...
I may be interested in one depending on price. I'll be waiting a while before buying one tho.
Just wanted to let everyone know we've received the demo manifold to reproduce. Quite honestly, I was a little shocked by the quality. Where the wastegate tubing meets the collector, a sizable amount of the weld has cracked and broken. Not sure if it's bad design or bad welding skills. Our recreation should be the same dims, but a much better, tig-welded stainless steel product. I think you guys are gonna love it!
I know what it is and I'm happy that you guys are going through with it!....when do you think it will be ready? I'm debating on the mani or getting in on the radiator gp right now....cant wait for pics.
John with out your help this wouldn't be happenig I 'm glad you were willing to ship ur spare to them. I just want to say thanks again.
glad to help....anything to keep people interested in modifying their j's
it's been way too long for me I need an update.
me too, has anyone else heard anything?
I'll shoot them an email see whats up.
Yeah would love to see an update and some pics!
Well the email I got from Chris at RD says they are currently in the process of making a jig to help with the reproduction of the manifold. thats it for now.
well at least its a start.
So its a normal turbo exhaust manifold? I will be interested if price is right, im going to turbocharge my car and i need to buy a turbo exhuast manifold for my 2005 Eco 2.2L. I would like to buy a downpipe too if you can make one that can fit in my car perfectly

Lefix the manifold that were talking about will not fit the eco as it was intended for the 2200 motor. it also is not similar to a stock manifold but rather a turbo header for the ohv.
Look at the pics I posted on page one of this post.
oh no no no i know it doesnt fit, im just asking if RDFABS can make one for the eco because im going to turbo my car and i will be in need of a eco turbo exhaust manifold... i also seen other eco posted that they would like to have one too...

I'm sure if you shot them an email they would be more than happy to help you out wiht getting a manifold.
Lefix - Like with all of our new projects we undertake we need to have something in shop to work off of Jig wise. Like the deal with the J-tuners manifold we have a spare 2200 engine around and we have the actual manifold to take measurements. We don't have a J-body around with the stock manifold off so we could create one. Once we can have someone come forwards and do this, this is how we get our measurements to re-create these products. So as of right now we're unable to really do anything for ya unless you can bring you car in personally and leave it with us for some time while we fab one up.
