GM Europe is working with GMTech (US) to see what the problem may be...I am waiting on the reply.
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
Have we figured this out yet?
Local GM dealer has my printout (data log) now and they are working with GM Europe and the Tech Line (US)...GM Europe still can not read my ECU with the reflash? That's the oddest part for me!
Not sure what the outcome will be but they have the data now!!
GM Racing's Steve Moore has also contacted me but I've only sent him the data logging and a list of mods so far. Maybe more to come later on this route....
On a side note my car did this again today while out on some back roads today....doesn't really bother me anymore but it's still doing it! I also think I have a bad tensioner on my SC....so exploring that as well (not related though...just a bad tensioner I think)....

I just have mine look at from people from GM CANADA last week, they took also my printout (data log) when it do it, I have a 2003 Ecotec with GMPP S/C and with RkSport 4-2-1 header, hi-flo cat, cat back and AEM CAI. with
My problem is when I do a full acceleration from a stop point or hitting the kick down, it get in the cut off 2 to 3 time before the second speed (Auto Trans) is engaging it self, but if I drive normally every thing is normal if I push the accelerator gradually fast it going fine also...
Also if I put it in L1 or L2, it like is having no guts and few second after it go....
there talking about a autotrans. vacuum, but I dont see any, I did all my installation my self and my dealership valid it, I'm 40 year old,

Update....well Bertland sounds like you and I are the test pigs for this one!! Talked to GM Europe today after taking my Cavy to the dealer here in Germany Monday and they stated they have another Cavy...same problems as I have and they are working a fix!
I go to morrow to pick up the car but GM Tech line said to do nothing as they study my data sheets and "someone else's in Canada" data sheets...to find a fix!
So, looks like some progress as GM is working it...but no solution yet!!
That's what I have...anyone else?
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
Add another one to the list. Im having the same problem. But i think i fixed it by runing a higher octane. Im runnin 93 and it doesnt seem to do it as much.

my g/fs has always seam to hit dead spots , like when i lift to shift , or maintain rpm , and sometimes when shifting it bogs hard into the next gear
aem intake(clean filter) , new plugs , dc header , stock cat and 2 1/4" catback
which is all about to change , ive got a header coming for it from 1 of GM's pretty cars , and ill have a full 2 1/2" exhaust done after that
never done it for me... running 94 octane all the time... but I don't have any bolt ons...

14.083 @ 99.746 mph GMPP s/c intercooled on drag radials.
I have all the major bolt ons and have had the problem since day 1!!
I also have a CEL for a "random misfire" that repeats every 5 engine cycles and then turns itself off every 10 cycles.
My A/F are 14.5-14.7 at idle and 10.5 or so at WOT...the car is fine other than the CEL I think...but if GM wants to fix my CEL...more power to them!
Biggest problem for me is GM can not see my ECU on the TECH2...when hooked up, it says to select another engine! So, GM can't read why I have a CEL...so GM is working to figure out why they can't see my ECU.
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
oooh oooh oooh
i know the answer to this one

what year is your car? Mines a 2003 and it does the same thng but when i change the year. to a 2004(on the tech2) it works just fine. but when i do 2003 it says " possible wrong vehicle selected.

I had my s/c installed at a local dealer i had a cut out problem before intermittent and it was every day after i got the s/c installed. it was at the dealer for 4 days. Aperently when the reflash is done the computer gets locked so you can't tune it. The dealer was however able to access the pcm using an 05 or 06 coblat s/c caron their scanner. They ar working with the gm tech line and told me gm is working on a new reflash for the s/c install on the ecotec. They fried my pcm so they put a new one on didn't relearn the crank sensor to relearn it they used the cobalt setup in their scanner and it seems to have worked. If they get the reflash for me i will post it on here when the do it.
Thanks Snowman...I'll check with the dealer on Monday and see how that works!
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
lets hope if they are working on a 2nd version of the s/c reflash , they dont code it like the current 1's so HPT can be used
i think if we were able to use HPT now , that the issues we are having could be corrected , in a few hours on a dyno , and some street time
Glad to see this is still being worked on. My car still does this and there seems to be no rhyme or reason.
This may sound elementary, but has anyone had the reflash uninstalled and then re-installed. This often fixes glitches in home PC software, and yes I know it's not a home PC, just a thought.
Should'nt this thread be a STICKY by now. This is a real issue needing to be resolved, and it would be nice to find it at the top. For those of us who don't get on here much anymore. Again just a thought.

The Eco may have the same problem. Due to an error in the program, under certian conditions the PCM will command -10.5 degrees of timing. Why GM would have it fire the plug after TDC I do not know or understand. You guys with the Eco reflash may be having the same problem. Just a thought.
Hey, i have a similar problem with my 2.4, how did you correct this timing issue

Wouldn't that be interesting if that was all it took to get HPT to work with the re-flash? Just an observation
This is probably a master of the obvious statement, but it seems to me that GM's reflash is guaged for a stock Ecotec and not one with bolt-ons.
The bolt-ons are throwing the computer off and the computer does not know what to do at certain times because the parameters are not the same as a stock Ecotec. Less backpressure, more air and so on...
I hope they fix this ASAP; I have a 2 1/4 exhaust up to the stock manifold and just a drop in K&N and really want the GM SC within a year. The price went down to $2499, and hope it is closer to $2000 by the time I get one, along with a better reflash.

Not from what I've read up on...bolt ons ans such really won't affect the SC or the computer unless the injectors are maxed out. The reflash strives to maintain 11:1 A/F at WOT all the time....

It is that delay you all were mentioning and not the guy having a poor reaction time, perhaps.
No...just a slow reaction time it looks like to me. The hesitation and stall for me is here and there...more so after I've ran the car hard. Not from just a run down the strip or something or getting on the gas once or twice.
On another note for everyone...the 04/05 computer thing didn't work for my car! The dealer still can not scan it on the TECH2? So that's no good for me!
Also my misfire is due to a lean condition at idle. I see high 14s/low 15s at idle but seeing 10s at WOT...but not before 3,000rpms. Up to there I see a steady decrese in A/Fs from mid to hgh 14s down to 10s.
So I have two problems really...the hesitation and a misfire.
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
That drop of power always bugged me when I had the SC (91 octane). It's nice to see GM is supporting it by looking into an updated reflash. Hopefully they forget to lock out the PCM this time. I've always wondered if it was on purpose or lack of proper testing of the code on there end before release.
I havent had the extreme conditions that others have explained but i have had a bog from from time to time but i cant even recall the last time it happened. If anything came of this it would be great to see a re-look at the programming and a chance that it would be un-locked. The use of HPT and the reflash would be one of the greatest things to have happened in the J-Body communitee.
Not only would we be VERY happy GM owners but HPT would be happy that their sales increase probably close to overnight, lol!
Keep us posted this is some exciting news

It sounds like they already have the reflash available from this article.
That statement has always been there so nothing new....
I have an appointment on Monday at the dealership for them to do something...they didn't say but wanted me to bring the car back in...? We'll see I guess what is new then.

I just wanted to put an update to this if anyone is interested. I brought my car into the dealer here in ottawa on again it was finally acting up while they had it hooked up to there computer. They read the car as in a closed loop then all of the sudden it went to open loop the o2 sensor went from 600mv to 70 mv for some reason it continued to go from closed to open loop several times while i was driving they are goin to call the gm tech line tomorrow and see what gm has to say about it. Not tsure if this info will help anyone but here it is
