Looking into going turbo, exactly how does this set up work?? Anyone have a picture of it installed?? Does this replace the existing injectors or add 4 more that operate under boost??

BTW, My search button is blocked cause I'm at work, no computer at home. I read the Ecotec Turbo FAQ but the link that was given didn't work.

4 more that operate under boost with a 2 or 3 bar map for itself that a computer program reads boost with and adds fuel per psi...

but I believe it's like $1500 bucks...

for that much I'd get injectors (440cc or better) and get hptuners (if you dont plan on going for mega power

Yeah, I knew it was expensive, neat concept. I'm not going for insane power just something to have the car run low 13s, have fun with driving it, ect... Where can I pick up a Map sensor?? I need that for HPTuners, right??

low 13's you dont need insane power... 250 whp should easily get you low 13's

Well, if you plan on running boost (low 13's then your gunna have to) Then you need a 2bar map sensor and fake the 2bar tune for HPtuners

I have a setup similar to Hahn's port fueler. On my 2.4 I have the HO intake manifold with injector bosses welded in and I run 4 extra 370cc injectors controlled by the SDS extra injector controller. You don't need a 2 BAR map sensor to run boost.

PortFueler also allows very good driveability when you are not boosting your car which is most of the time. When you are not boosting, you are running the stock injectors with the stock air/fuel ratio with PortFueler. This will allow you better MPG, no 'rich' codes from your O2 sensor due to big injectors and the ability to increase power readily if you wanted to.

So does portfueler automaticly adjust the fuel. like if i went from n/a to adding a turbo setup, it would adjust the fuel according to the boost levels, or do I still need to tune for that?

No you dont... I am running hptuners with a single bar and 750cc injectors.... Read before you assume...

I am also running 11 psi on a very rough tune... (too cold to tune right now)

Hi Adam,

Would you have width measurements for this manifold? From the engine side of the runners to the furthest point back. I have an Opel Spedster which has limited engine bay room, I intend to modify the dbilas intake below which has long angled runners allowing it to fit in the engine bay, adding injector pockets to the runners myself.

If your unit fits I probably be better off selling the dbilas and buying your unit. What's the max size throttle body it can take? I'm running with a 68mm.

Also, what are the three connections at the rear of the manifold for?

Thanks,
Steve

it has its own ecu that controls the extra injectors. you can either get the 16g or 20g flash from hahn. or make your own. its a pretty simple system to use. really user friendly

Yeah, I e-mailed them and got my question answered. I will defiantly be getting this for my turbo setup. Just gotta get money for it.

it sounds expensive but when your talking an intake manifold, 4 more injectors, and an ALREADY TUNED system for it ready for 26psi...its perfect.

So are you counting on certain boost pressures at certain RPMS?? I would call that acceptable with a supercharger, but with a turbo you need the PCM to read boost or at least have an FMU to compensate.

I love your car man, but why would you do that?

portfueler or a system like it is a great setup for cars that cannot tune map vs rpm (any J except 00-02 s/c 2.4). when you add up all the costs, it isnt a bad price at all for a "out of the box" product. not sure if anyone is using it with HPT but I bet those 2 together make for a very nice, emissions friendly, setup. very clean, very reversable, without chopping up the car's wiring.
