After I got my SC installed I got an engine light for my exhaust temp. being really high. Ive left it like this for awhile and its starting to bother me. I still havent got the wideband in,but before we get into A/F ratios I know im running pig rich since my car; well my bumper is pitch black (i know theres a diffrence between idle a/f, and in a/f in boost; both are set moderatly high on the fmu till I get the wideband). So im wandering what could be my problem? Do I actually have a lean mixture or could this be a timing issue? If so what do I look for?
I also want to note, when we did the SC, the spark plugs were a bit white and when I tried getting an emission test before the SC I had very high NOX levels; wouldnt pass.
Right now, I have a feeling its my fuel pump since it whines.
High EGTs can also be cause by being too rich... so its hard to say... also when did you check your plugs did you let it idle for a period of time or was it a boost pull then shut off shortly after?
^ yep. ALSO stock timing is only 12 degrees avd, meaning that the fule is still burning as you exhaust valves open, not good for the valve. with my DSM, i avanced the timing and it lowered my egts,
what temps are you pulling? 1600-1700, normal for the GM charger.

1600 is normal for a reflashed sc'd car.
1400-1500 egts is what a non reflashed s/c car would see on a stock pulley.
that egt still dont tell you much. a wideband is the way to go.
My EGTs were always lower than 1600, and now even lower with the tune I've been running. I don't believe he's even running an EGT, but rather relying on what his CEL was for.
Sam. I'm going to say what many people are thinking.
Do NOT drive this car until you spend the money on a wideband, and more money to get it properly tuned.
You ARE going to blow it up, and there aren't going to be many people who feel sorry for you when it happens.
Do it once, do it right, or don't do it at all. For your own good.

Wait....why do you have an FMU?
I actually dont have an EGT gauge; im relying on the CEL light. Nonetheless, one thing I just remembered is I forgot to reset the CEL after I got the SC injectors. Originally that light went on when I had the stock injectors in the car with the SC however. It never came on when my car was NA. Nonetheless, thanks for your insights however. Bill, I know Ive been having loads of issues with my car since the SC (hell my axles are going now) its not the money but about time itself. Ive had the wideband at home for a month just never had the time to put it in. I just called Pipes and they're doing it tommorow which is why i made a post to find out where it goes.

You need it to supercharge a pre 2000 since there is no reflash for them. This information is covered in the sticky at the top of the boost forum.

Ohhhh, thanks for clearing that up for me....again. I think I'm just going to stop trying to learn stuff about the 2.4. I can never get that straight.
never heard of a exhuast too high hot code.

I ll have to check it out tomorrow, maybe the code is for something else but i remember we couldnt find the booklet for it and had to look up the code over the net, I have a feeling we got the wrong explanation for the code; ill let you guys know tomorrow.
sorry guys, I just figured it out. The code was P0132 (high voltage to 02 sensor). I was running rich, got the wideband and it was 10:1 at idle too lol.
