well im getting my exhaust redone at last after debating over the past months and im wondering should i go 2.25" downpipe all the way to the muffler 2.25 and then have 2.5 from the muffler out or vice versa for best performance. I do not want to go full 2.5 beings that ive heard people losing power with the m45 with going that big but then again others have said different. So im going 2.25" deff but not sure where to open it up at with the 2.5 within the system. I have a gutted cat as well. Thanks.

I'm running full 2.75" inch on my car man... I went from a full 2.25" system last spring to what I have now and I can tell you I DEFINATELY did not lose any power. I could really feel the difference in my top end once I opened it up. I honestly think 2.25" is a bit small for a boosted application.

I've had my full 2.5 from the header all the way back for a few years now and I Love it! I would definetely reconsider using 2.25 and go with 2.5.
