Hey everyone,

Those who were here a long long time may remember me. Things are going well, my Ion Redline is coming along nicely.

I wanted to mention to everyone here, Stagmeyers can port the superchargers for you guys, and intense makes a new snout to accomidate a 2.5 and under inch pully, (the stock m62 is too large for it to fit.)

So incase anyone is running the M62 and has any questions or anything, let me know, i have had them apart.

Keith-

congrats on sticking with the J body, great cars, I wish at time i did.

As of now im hitting nearly 300 WHP and can hit low 13's even with my soft clutch and wheel hop.

next summer im building traction bars and installing a exedy clutch and flywheel, along with some slicks and some decent shifting im going to hit the 12's for the first time.

its cool you guys are using the m62 now, best of luck with everything.

feel free to hit redline forurms or myself if any questions pop up.

remember Josh? the turbo cav.

last i heard it was parted out and sold for cheap, and hes driving a STI.

i was super bummed when he left the org, and next thing you know, i did as well.

its good to see so many sticking around.

Its flat out stupid to go with a pulley smaller than 2.6 at 7000rpm your over reving the supercharger, you will actually lose power by going smaller than 2.6, not to mention causing damage to your blower

2.5 is about as low as i will go.

yes it takes some life off the charger, but thats for people who want max power without going twin charged ect.

Heat is a main concern with 2.6 and under, you need a way to cool the charge in order to benifit from it, for instance gm put out a dual pass end plate for our intercooler. that helps, also people are putting a mustang cobra intercooler in.

once you have your temps controlled, via any route you decide to go.

your not destroying your s-c, you are exceeding its maximum rpm at redline, how often do we hang the charger at redline? with the boost bypass, once you let of the throtle your boost lowers. and if your going WOT your going to shift and bring your blower RPM to a more managable level.

the m62 can rev considerably higher than the m90.

2.6 properly tuned and cooled can bring nice power increases over a 3.0

as far as duribiltiy ive had this setup for about 12,000 miles. then after opening up the charger for a port and polish upon inspection the blower was perfect. no signs of wear.

with the m62 case however, if you bolt it in with to much tq, you can distort the fins and cause warping.

that happened to a few guys and they figured it was the pully hurting it, upon inspection it was the excess tq on the bolts.

id worry about the a\f's with a 2.6 and the stress on the internals far before worrying if it will hurt my blower.

we have about 40,000 miles with a 2.6 and so far things are good, im positive it will lessen the life of the blower somewhat, but nothing that will occur instantly or early on.

Wow and i have a m90 we're modifying for my 2.2,
My biggest current issue is, are we going to have to get a diff pully to control boost?

and if you are really worried about bearing life etc, do the upgrade to the ceramic ball bearings, they can take the additional rotational sped, and generated heat with no problem, in addition they create less friction and weigh a small iota less.

Downside: unbelievebale expensive....figure a factor of 10 difference..Outer bearing on the snout $8 dollars, upgrade to a ceramic roller is like $84!!!
