Looking for a fast spooling turbo without loosing alot of top end power. I found this trim on ebay and was wondering what everyone thought. I will be pushing 10-12psi on an ecotec. What do you think?

A T3 45 trim compressor is not good for 400hp, its barely enough for 200hp.

0.63 exhaust a/r

if T3 compressor 57-60+ trim

if t4 get "b" or "e" trims

should be spooling 2800-3400 rpm...

HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED

I am looking to get a T3/T4 Flange T04E turbo from my friend. It's has a .50 A/R compressor and .63 A/R exhaust turbine. I believe its a .57 trim (not sure what the trim means). Would this be a good choice for a 2.4L. Goal is 230-250 whp.

That turbo would work but its far from the best turbo for your needs. It is more suited for a 350-450 whp motor.

A good turbo for you would be a straight T3 60 trim with a .63 a/r turbine. I can produde up to 300hp if needed and should spool nice and fast on a 2.4L.

Holy cow I didn't realize that turbo would be capable of that much power. Too bad this LD9 isn't built with forged internals....

I was only planning to set the waste gate around 10-12 psi max.. That turbo probably wouldn't even be in it's sweet spot but it'd be nice to know I could turn it up if I ever built the engine to handle it.

Where in MI are you from? I'm in St. Joseph over on the SW corner near Indiana.
