^^ yea i said do two 4" dia ones. i dont know where your going to get 7 inch pvc im pretty sure its 6 inch and thats it. i may be wrong.... good luck with the swappable ports! ive always wanted to do it. but theres only like 2-4 comps a year here in mn and i dominate the class a division as it is so i dont need to tune for comps...

I havent checked out the local Menards yet. But Ive got some good stuff planned for this box.
Sub and port rear. Double baffle. Recessed sub mount. Im going to try to flush mount the port as much as possible with the face. Possibly some rear plexi but I havent decided since I usually mount my amp to the rear of my boxes. Might try some 45 corners. Idk how well its going to work without having a table saw. But oh well.
Oh ya Anton. One 8 inch aeroport isnt equal to two 4 inch aero ports in port area. Two 4 inch aeros are only half the area of an 8 inch aero I would need 4 4 inch aeroport to equal the area. Just FYI.
Don't tell Anton anything. He knows everything about everything. He's hitting big huge numbers without our help.
Your car may do 13 sec @ 103 mph, but my car does 146db @ 35 hz.

this part is the only thing i agree with. and thanks for the complement!
and yes i did do my math backwards on that one. i did radius * pi^2 instead of radius^2 * pi. my bad. i appologize!

You best. So in that case I will be doing an 8 inch port rather than 4 4 inchers.
Still attempting to get my sub ordered. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Hes backed up on emails. Took me 4 days to get a responce.
Bump for order time.
As per our chat convo Jeffrey:
Brian,
You are very likely to break it mechanically some how before cooking the coil on a burp... we haven't blown a coil on a burp yet.
In a 6th order band-pass that kept excursion down to almost nothing we put an 8800 watt burp through one.

Good good good good good. Thermally they'll take it. Mechanically they'll break.
You should super glue some extra spiders onto it.

Seriously?
Im debating if the sub will self destruct on an SAZ-2000D.

Maybe Ill just pick up a 1500D. They do like 300 over rated power at 1 ohm anyways.

go with the bigger amp, just because once you get a taste of it your going ot always want more. and with the bigger amp you oculd always turn it down on the gain to adjust the power output. you could use 1000 wrms at 1 ohm on the 2000 if oyu wanted. then for a comp or just to show off you use the 2000 wrms. you hear me? lol but do what you feel comfortable doing....

Well Im thinking that Ill be able to find a 1500D cheaper and easier since the 2kD is pretty much new. The 1500 has a solid rep but all Sundown stuff does. So idk itll be awhile until I get a different amp. I have to get my exhaust fixed among a few other things Ive been meaning to do.
get this in a box immediatly!!!!!!
i wanna see it destroy the sunfire....

Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im off tomorrow so I might start on the box if I can.
Disappointing thing is that it wont work in the box I had the Type R im
Theres the ports. With the elbows theyre around 15 inches long. I had to do the elbows since the box wasnt deep enough.
Custom PVC flares!!!!!!!!! I need more practice making there but overall it worked pretty well
Heres basically how the front of the box is set up. And you can see my feets for anyone with a foot fetish.
I meant to finish it tonight but I ran out of steam and no one who was trying to sleep appreciated the router and jigsaw making noise. So hopefully we'll be done tomorrow.
good progress. now finish it! lol post vids asap!

Only progress for tonight since I had to work
I think im going to end up running some screws through the side of the port. Just depends how solid this is.
Got it finished today. But Im feeling sick so I just put it in did a few runs and went inside to rest. Im not sure if its the stiffness of the suspension or if i messed up to tune but it sounds funny.
