Just thought Id give my opinion on my new alarm. I got the Viper 791XV. I like it alot... Comes with extra auxilery functions to play around with and stuff like that. It acually lets you know when you unlocked your car, or if it started or failed trying to do so. If the alarm goes off it lets you know why it went off to, such as a hammer sign for the shock sensor or a door opening for the door switch, or trunk and hood. Me and my friend installed it this passed weekend. We put a couple auxilerys on today. We hooked up the high beams and tail lights to come on when you press lock and aux. The head unit comes on when you press unlock and Aux. And tommorow or soon to come is when you hold the aux. button down for more then 1.5 seconds it sounds the horn intill you realease. Some people asked me why I would spend the money for a 4-door.. but i got a 300$ discount (usally 499.99) from a friend that works in an electronics store. The only thing that was a tuffy was the remote start without the module for the pass key. We figured out that the lock cylinder checked for resistance only in the start position, with power and ground hooked up to it. So we found the resistance and put in 2 resitors in series up with a relay from the main alarm module to power the relay only when remote started. So if someone tried to hot wire my car.. it still wouldnt work, becasue the pass key is still hooked up corrrectly. But that all took more time then you would think. Well I just thought I would let you all know that I like it alot incase you were thinking of getting it. I recommend you get the pass key module though, it will save some time. I have a 97 sunfire

it only takes about twnety minutes to install the DEI part to bypass the passkey for the remote start too. Hope it was fun.
yep, always trying to learn something new.. There is alot you can do with a relay or two..
