just wondering if 97 cavalier base models (2dr) ever came with a stock cd player? i have an aftermarket deck and it might be too big/wide to install, or something like that. thanks
An aftermarket deck shouldn't be too wide to install. It's been done a million times or more. Just follow the sticky at the top of the Audio page. But if you didn't want to go that route, they did offer a CD player from the factory, but you'll have to have it re-coded at a dealer once installed.
don't use the sticky in this forum thats for 2000+ cavaliers, the 95-99 use a whole different mounting kit and harness, your best bet would be check out :

Scosche
then input the info for your car then go to your local walmart or wherever and buy the stuff you need.
i have a 97 cavi rs 2 door, came with stock cd player, and i installed an aftermarket one(even though it was a pain in the a$$)
